Behind the Apron Episode 2: Chef David Deshaies.

In this conversation, Chef Deshaies reflects on the kitchens and chefs that shaped his career, the discipline and rigor he carried with him from France, and how his approach to leading a new generation of cooks has evolved through respect, trust, and pride in the work they do together.

Chef Deshaies is behind @lardentedc , @lovemakotodc , and @unconventionaldiner in Washington, D.C.

Spent a great few days at the 2026 National Restaurant Association Show with Garnier Thiebaut. It is inspiring to be surrounded by innovation, craftsmanship, and people who are passionate about elevating the dining experience from the kitchen to the table. Grateful to be part of the conversation shaping what’s next in hospitality! #garnierthiebaut #garnierthiebautusa @gtusahospitality @garnierthiebautusa @jpkruko73 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @jpkruko73
