I’m very grateful to the team @christ_church_macc for hosting my ‘Journey to Here’ silk paintings for Macc Textile Week.

This is actually the 2nd outing for two of these works, ‘Silk Road Journeys’ which were created with Macclesfield residents earlier this year for my MA Fine Art with Falmouth University.

Each person painted a mark representing their “journey to here” on habutai silk, which was then stretched over two frames. The works embody all the interconnected and different journeys that have led us to here, to Macclesfield.

The two newer works, 'Silk Conversations', use the same roll of fabric, tools and colours used by the workshop participants – showcasing the impact and inspirations of new connections and new conversations.

On Thurs 24th Sept 6-8pm visit Christ Church and chat to me about the work, my upcoming Paradise Mill exhibition (more soon!), plus I’ll be demonstrating some silk painting and silk collage, and have smaller works for sale.

But it's not just my work at Christ Church - there’s lots of textile art on display all week: Blanket Statements, community blankets, Macc Links, ArtSpace & MADS Costume Competition stand.

Go see for yourself - it looks amazing, plus the light in the church at different times of the day is really worth checking out too!

I’m taking part in Macc Textile Week - and I’ve got a few spaces left for my 'Silk Journeys' Art workshop on Sat!

No experience necessary! It's all about being playful with paint and experimenting with the materials - including silk!

We'll be...

- Playing with acrylic inks and PAINT to make some expressive and experimental marks on different papers.
- All inspired by a soundscape created to inspire you with SOUNDS from the Silk Road
- Then onto with PAINTING SILK - and to demystify the idea that silk painting has to be all delicate and precise (unless you want it to be of course!)
- After a break (+ maybe a cake in the Museum cafe?), we’ll be playing some more with silk - this time as COLLAGE, adding loads of interesting textures and colours to your paper pieces.
- Then you'll get the chance to MOUNT your abstract masterpieces so they look even more fabulous when you take them home!

It’ll be a fun and relaxing 2.5 hours.
£35 including all materials - and you’ll leave with some original silk inspired abstract work and some new creative ideas to share at home.

And it’s all happening at the Silk Museum Classroom from 2pm this Saturday - 19th September.

As I mentioned a few weeks back - I’m taking part in Macclesfield Textile Week on from 19th to 27th September 2026.

There's over 50 events across 15 locations, so the week is going to be jam packed with ways to explore Macclesfield’s textile heritage through exhibitions, workshops, talks, walks, fashion, poetry and much more!

Here's what I'm up to:

WORKSHOP: Silk Journeys
Saturday 19th September, 2-4.30pm
@silkmuseummacc

Come and join me to experiment with different ways to make art with silk - including playful painting on silk and collaging with silk - inspired by eclectic stories and sounds of the Silk Road, and journeys to Macclesfield.

No previous art or textile experience needed! It'll be a fun and relaxed afternoon, and you'll learn new ways of making art and head home with a unique contemporary mixed media artwork. The session is £35, including all materials. Limited spaces so book up soon.

I love trying new processes - so I was excited to apply one of my painting techniques on a new medium.

Super chuffed with my efforts here from a @theperiwinkleandclaystudio clay painting session with some lovely friends a few weeks back. Thank you to Claire and her team for working their kiln & firing magic with my creation!

Watch this space… these might appear again in some other form / space / exhibit later this year.

Here's just some of the prints I'll be bringing along tomorrow at Unit 37 in the Grosvenor Centre, Macclesfield - tomorrow.

The exhibition features the work of @the.print.block - a group of printmakers and print enthusiasts from the Macclesfield area. There's an eclectic mix of print work, all showcasing tests, trials and experiments from the group's different practices.

Super chuffed to have my silk printing experiments on show in @the.print.block 'Adventures in Printmaking' exhibition which opens today at Unit 37 in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre in Macclesfield.

As you can see I played with loads of different handprinting techniques to make these 'Postcards from the Silk Road'. Some worked really well so I'll be returning to them for sure!

Experimenting with different ways to make art with silk is part of my MA Fine Art with Falmouth University and will be a huge part of my final major project which will be on show in Macclesfield in November.

The Print Block Workshop @ Unit 37 Grosvenor Shopping
& The Corner Stall

The Print Block is in two places at #1261Festival - not just one!!!

Not only have we got an amazing hands-on printmaking and badge making workshop going on in UNIT 37 at the Grosvenor Centre (12-4pm) BUT our artists and printmakers are selling their wares at The Corner Stall @macclesfieldmarkethall

@heather.richards.pottery will be hosting the stall and showcasing her amazing ceramics, but we've also got prints, paintings, collage with silk, stickers, zines and much more!

Pleased to see my paintings 'Blend' & 'Meld' in the Capital Group Taking Pride in Art 2026 exhibition at the Capital Group offices in Paddington, which opened this week.

My third time taking part, beautifully curated by @beatriceridleyart and the 9th year for the annual exhibition celebrating LGBTQ+ artists, pride and visibility.

Honoured to be on show with 45 amazingly talented artists and super grateful for the team at Capital Group for hosting another amazing show.

I wasn’t able to make the opening this year but will being there for the closing party later this month. Thanks to @emmaprice_artist for the photos! taken in Paddington Square by @jroattsart

Super happy that 'Blossoming Joy' is now on show at @bobcatgallery in Putney.

Sadly the 'Luminous' exhibition had to close early, but I'm delighted that my painting can continue its time in London at @bobcatgallery - where I've exhibited before.

Catherine Sweet who runs the gallery has a wealth of affordable original and handmade limited edition artworks on show and lots of events throughout the year. Go check it out.
