I’ll be back in Australia for a few weeks over the school holidays and I’ve opened a small number of dates for student acrobatics workshops.

Workshops can be tailored around what your students actually need, whether that’s aerials, back handsprings, saults, tumble passes or building stronger technique, confidence and progressions.

I’ve been teaching acrobatics for 17 years and working professionally as an acrobat for the past eight, including with Cirque du Soleil.

4 months after hurting my knee, I finally feel like I can train legs properly again.

I’ve always felt pretty indestructible.

Like I could ask my body to do almost anything and it would figure it out.

Having to hold back has been harder than I expected.

So being able to do this again feels like...

I’m opening a limited number of acrobatics workshop dates while I’m home between 22 September and 18 October.

Studios can book Student Acro Intensives, Acro Teacher Development, or combine both into a larger workshop day.

I’ll be based on the Gold Coast, but I’m very open to interstate enquiries where we can put together the right workshop day or weekend.

Every studio has different students, different strengths and different areas that need work, so I don’t want to arrive and teach the same workshop everywhere.

Student intensives can be tailored from beginner through to pre-professional and built around the areas your students would benefit from most.

This could include:

• Aerials
• Handsprings
• Tumbling
• Back saults & layouts
• Hand balancing
• Partner & group acrobatics
• Skill connections, power, technique and confidence

We can spend the whole session breaking down one particular area, or build a broader intensive around several skills.

The goal is simple: give your students useful progressions, corrections and training they can continue working on long after the workshop finishes.

I’m just as passionate about developing better acro teachers as I am about developing better acrobats.

My teacher development workshops are practical, hands-on sessions designed to help teachers become more confident with:

• Spotting
• Skill progressions
• Drills
• Corrections
• Class structure
• Confidence building

I don’t want teachers leaving with 50 new drills they don’t understand.

I want them to understand what they’re looking for, why a student is struggling, which progression to use next, and how to safely help that student move forward.

Teacher development can be booked as its own workshop or combined with student intensives into a full multiple studio training day.

What should you do more of to better your health and lifestyle?

A sea day is usually a two show day on the @virginvoyages Valliant Lady. This means there are less hours in the day for me to work on @acrogrip 😌

Normally, I sacrifice sunlight for sitting in my cabin getting work done on my laptop.

From now on, I will make sure to get outside for at least 20 minutes and see the ocean, sun and breathe fresh air.

It actually helped my productivity today too.

What does a day off look like when working for Virgin Voyages?

Well there are no days off when you're an entrepreneur! But I did get to spend a few hours deep sea fishing in Saint Lucia!
