This hurts.

One of the first songs I ever wrote went:

The one and only
My bologna
The one and only
Steve Poponi

I was like 14 then, and Steve was an icon.

And that never changed even as we became friends. If you were in a room with him, the room was better. Whether it was your house, the diner, band rehearsal, an arcade auction, or huge concert venue where he was doing sound, it was a better room with Steve in it. I remember just being in the same city at the same time (Nashville October 2022) and was buzzing because we could *possibly* bump into each other and chat.

The one and only Steve Poponi will be missed so dearly. by @jtagmire
