Act 3 — @nodoubt x @spherevegas

For the opening song of Act 3, “The Climb,” we wanted to create a moment that felt theatrical, dramatic, and transformative. @gwenstefani was really drawn to the idea of polka dots for this section of the show, a subtle thread that would slowly build and ultimately lead into the surprise reveal of our crystal covered homage to the iconic “Don’t Speak” polka dot dress later in the act.

Polka dots have always been such a signature part of Gwen’s world and wardrobe, from the “Don’t Speak” dress to the black-and-white look in the “Running” video, and so many other moments throughout her career. It felt right to revisit that here, but in a new, more dramatic way for Sphere.

From the beginning, we knew this section had to feel layered and cinematic, with at least four quick changes woven throughout the 5 songs performed during this act. We commissioned @marcosquared to bring that vision to life with this incredible custom look: a structured corset, oversized “cloud” skirt, and dramatic hooded cape that moved beautifully on stage and completely transformed under the Sphere visuals.

The corset itself was inspired by a visit I made earlier this year to the @vamuseum , where I saw the original Marie Antoinette inspiration behind @viviennewestwood ’s iconic corset designs. It became an even more meaningful reference knowing Gwen had actually saved up to buy one of those Westwood corsets herself on Melrose Avenue in the early ’90s — and still owns it today.

This is one of my favorite moments in the entire show. I love this song, and watching Gwen perform it with so much emotion and energy makes the clothes come alive in a way that only she can.

Sunday (12/21) @the_gradwell_house Arbor Christmas Show

It was fun to surprise a few friends and new acquaintances from Poponipalooza in June and the Best Friends Forever Fest in October. I wasn’t sure I would be able to make it so I only told a couple people that I might make it.

Watched @matt_weber play in 4 more bands for a total of 5 in 24 hours, in two states. This surpassed a record held by @hi.tomryan with 3 bands in 24 hours, in two time zones. 🏆

I enjoyed some nog and chats in the kitchen and picked up some artwork by @brianmietz before a brief stroll in Haddon Heights and heading home for the night.

It was sincerely a gift to experience and hear these holiday tunes live. I appreciate all who made it happen and the community this group has created. It’s pretty special.

What started with a plan to see one show in Brooklyn with @jessemack turned into a weekend with three shows, in three states, with so many friends and fam.

Friday (12/19) included a quick visit with Birthday Boy @fittenfull a lunch date with @unerousse & @tourpipe before a delicious dinner with @meredithtruax

The @thefrontbottoms ‘s 11th Annual Champagne Jam at the Fillmore in Philadelphia was so much fun. It brought a bunch of crew fam. together and one of my favorites, @balanceandcomposure (Best dudes.) Loved that @itscreeks smiled and gave me a hug on sight and later @andrewslaymaker confessed, “Tiffany, I have no idea where you live.” 😂 (To be fair, this was the third B&C show in about a year, in as many states.)

Caught a few moments with @elleextracute and @massbroadcast and crammed in as much time as possible with @kellymason and @meredithtruax

We wrapped up the night with a dance party at the Brooklyn Bowl before carpooling home.

The last two photos were the nice bookends of my day.

Just finished up one of the best weekends of my entire life working my tush off at PAX Unplugged. @buttonshy has become such a massive part of my life this year and I am so grateful every day for it. I love these guys and I love their games and days like these I truly believe I am God’s favorite.

⚡️🔋 Today is the Kickstarter launch day for Power Creep, a super fun print and play game from Jason Greeno and Jason Tagmire! This game from @pnparcade hits some major points for me:

- Thematically, this game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where you’re taking on some dangerous adventures to restore power by racing against…the Creep.
- It’s a roll and write game! And what’s even cooler, it’s an adventure that can last a whole year as new locations for exploring are released on a weekly basis!
- You can make your hero even cooler by collecting items and crafting new gear!
- My favorite element is how you complete a structure (essentially navigating through a building to its power generator) can have some significant impacts in how the game goes for you! If you don’t do it sequentially (where you’re adding a value to your path that is either +/-1 or equal to the previous value), the Creep automatically advances by 7. If it is completed sequentially, you get a blueprint for the building you just completed, which gives you cool things to do for the remainder of the game. This puzzly and semi-gambling piece is SO good for my puzzle-loving heart!
- Did I mention you get to fight things too that get triggered based on what you roll?? 😈

Doesn’t this sound super fun?? It’s amazing that all of this puzzly goodness happens on ONE page. Then all you need is some dice (3 for good, 3 for evil), some fun pencils/pens, and you’re good to go!

For this weeks #firstimpressionsfriday🎲 I’m featuring The Walking Dead Surrounded, a newish Button Shy solo game. I love these little games and the main man Jason Tagmire has done a great job translating a small deck of cards into an engaging pattern / grid building game of exploration and killing walkers! The game even comes with a set of scenarios with different objectives and starting cards to add even more theming into the game. This one just about fits on my desk (depending on how I place the cards!) so will keep it close and sure to crack this out plenty of times as a quick, semi light solo blast against the walking dead!

@officialpax_ #paxunplugged 2022 is in the books! For my first ever #gaming event, I had a lot of fun. Started out a bit rocky, but got tons better… mainly because of my amazing #friends that I got to see and spend time with, even if it was only for a quick hello… and meeting new awesome #gamers. I’ll be sharing more pics of fun #boardgames and #cardgames that I saw on the show floor. However… for now, here is a look at these fantastic people in my life I saw at #pax.
