I was fortunate enough to get the win at the IBJJF Memphis Open yesterday. Won two fights and didn’t have a point scored on me. After six years as a black belt, I won my first gold medal. I’m grateful to be able to represent myself, my city, my team and my family in such a positive way!

I don’t compete often so every competition is important, but this competition was specifically important to me. When I lost my first match at the last Memphis Open, I called my wife and my daughter answered, crying because I didn’t win. It hurt my heart. I wanted to win this for her. She deserves this win just as much as I do. I’m very lucky to be her daddy and very happy that I was able to bring home the win for her. Daddy loves you Cora!

Thank you God for keeping me, my opponents and my team safe and giving me the strength and abilities to earn these tough wins!

I have always loved my wife, but I haven’t always appreciated her like I should have.

The more our family grows, the more I realize what an absolute gem I have always had in a wife.

Appreciate your spouse and everything they do and have done for you! You will look back and wish you had! by @jtmiller901
