“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discovered that I had not lived.” In late August I had some friends ask me if I wanted to ride motorcycles from Utah to the Arctic Circle (to the top of Alaska). They asked me a week before they left. 2 days before leaving I bought this bike. Turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. 3 weeks of laughs, sun, rain, dirt mud, and struggles. After about 5000 miles we made it. This opportunity reminded me how beautiful our world is and the people in it. I meet countless wonderful people who helped us along the way, and they did it without any gain for themselves. It makes me heart full we life in such an incredible world. Doing it on a bike made me feel like I could reach out and touch it all. 10/10 would recommend Photo cred: @mattcnewey @jtporter9 by @jtporter9

Summer Dumpin - and this quote ⬇️⬇️ “Why are you seeking validation from a world that crucified a perfect man. That’s a real question because if the standard was perfection, somebody already met it, and the world still turned on him. Which means approval was never actually about being good enough. You could do anything right and still be misunderstood, still be judged, still have people decide who you are without asking. So chasing it is a losing game by design, and once that clicks a lot of what’s holding you back stops making sense. The overthinking the waiting for permission, the version of your life you postpone becuase of how it might look. You were never going to win their approval, so go live like you don’t need it.” Ironic im sharing this on instabrag but it was a deep reminder to me to not care what other people think about you. You don’t have to be perfect. JUST DO YOU by @jtporter9
Lotoja 2026, first bike race in the books. Honestly went in under trained for this. But what’s new. Awesome experience, I know I have more in me but happy with my effort, at 11hrs 34 of total time. So grateful for my friends and the amazing other riders I met in the race. I learned so much about cycling and myself. Grateful I can move my body like this by @jtporter9

Boise 70.3 People ask me why I enjoy endurance sports, I like to make jokes about it. But the reality is I think it’s too easy to live life comfortably, and to avoid pain and discomfort. But the hard truth is pain and discomfort will come, life is hard and you never know what it’ll throw at you. So instead of running from it, better to embrace it, and know pain. And hopefully through that become a better, stronger person for yourself or those around you. Ironman events are so empowering and inspiring, they make me emotional every time I’m there. Seeing people face the pain and push through it anyways. I’m grateful I have a body that can do these things and hope to maintain that for as long as I can. Big shoutout to @adammmhurd @kylesmcleod and @mike.biggins for pushing me to sign up for this race, even though it was 2 weeks before the race… next time I’ll prep more. Overall so happy and grateful for this experience by @jtporter9
Broken Arrow, Broken Ankles, and Broken Spirits Signed up for the @brokenarrowskyrace 46k the morning of for my first ever trail race. Race was incredible I was on such a high until I rolled my ankle badly mile 12. The rest of the race was excruciating but I knew I could push through the pain and finish. Unfortunately at the last aid station with 3 miles left we went in a weather hold due to lightning and snow. They ended up canceling the race an hour and a half later. So even though technically I finished the race I left a little cut short. I guess I’ll half to come back next year. Huge shoutout to the support crews, I think I found a new love. I had such a wonderful experience here. Course was incredible. This will definitely not be my last trail race. by @jtporter9
