POSTS STORIES REELS

Recently I appeared on Meta’s Business, Innovation and Technology podcast and underlined the importance of being able to put yourself in the shoes of others. Every day we wake up to examples where empathy in design can and would make a difference for ourselves and in pushing innovation forward. Special thanks @coreytponder @its.actually.just.kate and @meta for the open, courageous conversation. Link in bio for the whole shabang 💥 by @jud.ithmartinez

That moment you hear @entrepreneur wrote about you.

I used to really hate uncertainty. If uncertainty were a person, they’d be someone I avoided at all costs, roll my eyes at every time they would try to teach me a lesson, and would want nothing to do with — let alone become friends. As a recovering perfectionist, uncertainty was the enemy. And on my most self-critical days, uncertainty could be seen as a mark of failure. I used to take so much pride in “knowing”. Knowing my 10 year plan. Knowing law school was the end game. Knowing when I wanted to settle down. Knowing success meant X amount of money by X. It was all about knowing. Down to the detail. Knowing meant power, success, and control. After all, I grew up hearing “knowledge is power.” But life doesn’t always play out like slogans, does it?

So then Life does it’s thing and throws you curve balls from every angle (or you choose to be courageous and throw curve balls of your own). Then uncertainty is no longer this thing you can avoid. It’s suddenly everywhere. That was me. And somewhere along the way, I realized uncertainty was no longer this terrible, terrifying, thing; it was actually a catalyst for so many beautiful, life altering, “pinch-me-is-this-even-real?” moments. When nothing is certain, isn’t anything possible? And when anything is possible...well, you can decide how you want things to go.

What if uncertainty wasn’t this thing that needed to change, but rather it was our relationship to uncertainty that did? I don’t know. But I’ve learned it’s really hard to discover anything when I “know” everything. Where’s the fun in that?

It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how much you can plan for life, life can have other plans.

Tension. Friction. Strain. Grateful to my younger selves for every courageous lesson you’ve taught me to get to the point in my career where I can do what I do and be who I need to be with courage 🤍

Shout out to @inhershoesmvmt_bayarea for hosting a STELLAR event last night to an RSVP list of over 200 humans across the world to talk about shifting limiting beliefs and owning your worth. So honored I got to be an impromptu last minute addition 🥰✨

Five years, five Summits.

As May comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on this year’s @rarebeauty Mental Health Summit and the journey of bringing five Summits to life over the years.

Each year, we’ve had the privilege of bringing incredible voices to the stage, and this year in New York was no different.

From early childhood development and relationships, to navigating digital media and having hard conversations across generations; from accessibility and inclusive design, to honoring our younger selves as we heal in community — the topics and faces on stage may change, but the commitment has remained the same to me: to meet people where they are and honor the journey each individual has walked to get there.

That same commitment was reflected in the launch of our latest Social Impact Report this month, capturing not only the progress we’ve made together, but the communities, conversations, and people at the heart of this work.

Rare Beauty has always been about creating products that help people feel good without hiding what makes them unique. And what makes each of us unique is our lived, human experience.

And like any good deed, impact work is never done alone. A huge thank you to the people power behind this year’s Summit and Impact Report. I continue to be inspired by your passion for your craft, commitment to community, and unwavering belief that there is still good worth investing in the world. Because there is.

Choose your hard.

Simple things keeping my mind sharp in a lazy digital world 🧠✨

In a season where everything wants our attention, I’ve been intentionally coming back to things that don’t need WiFi.

Reading actual books. Playing mahjong with family. Doing puzzles. Cooking from memory. Leaning into tactile things.

It’s not about being anti-screen — it’s about staying grounded. Grateful. Connected to the things that actually matter.

Less mindless scrolling. More intentional living. 💭 by @jud.ithmartinez

$2.5 million in funding for youth mental health. Applications open now. 🌍

The Rare Impact Fund just launched its first-ever RFP — and this one is personal.

Not every young person can access traditional mental health care. But they do have mentors. Peer supporters. School staff. Community leaders. People who show up every day, often without the training or resources they need.

This funding is for the nonprofits strengthening that nonclinical workforce. 💪💗

✨$250,000–$500,000 grants.
✨2-year support.
✨Deadline: April 10th.

If you know an org doing this work — tag them. Share this. Let’s get funding to the people who need it. 🙌 by @jud.ithmartinez

If I told myself a year ago I would be posting content every single day for 30 days, I would’ve said YEAH RIGHT. For what? Why? How?

We did the thing and here’s what I learned:

1. It doesn’t have to be about content. It can be about consistency. I used this like the gym — not for performance, but for proving something to myself.

2. Done is better than perfect. Some of my best posts were ones I almost didn’t publish. And again, this was just for the sake of showing up.

3. Whatever kept me from posting is what’s kept me from doing 90% of other things I’ve been wanting to do. How you play in one area of life is how you play in others.

4. Consistency builds trust — not just with others, but with yourself.

5. The thing you’ve been dreading? It might be the thing that changes you.

So whatever you’ve been putting off — start before you’re ready. The clarity comes after you begin. ✨

Life is life-ing. People, places, and things keeping me grounded 💗

3 questions that turn networking into mentorship:

1. If you had to start over from scratch today, what would you do?

2. Where do you see me underestimating myself — or overcompensating?

3. What’s the question I should be asking that I’m not?

The last one is my favorite. It shifts the dynamic from “give me advice” to “help me see what I’m missing.”

Mentorship isn’t about picking someone’s brain. It’s about showing up ready to be seen — and challenged.

Sure, networking opens doors. But mentorship walks you through them. 🚪✨

5 habits that helped me navigate a non-linear career — especially when times got tough:

1. Quieting the mind — learning to filter noise from what’s actually noteworthy. I meditate everyday and it’s changed my life.

2. Never being the smartest in the room — ego only gets you so far. Growth means surrounding yourself with people you can learn from. And humbling yourself to receive wisdom.

3. Shifting my relationship with numbers — money isn’t something to earn. It’s a tool to use and leverage. This was a biggie for me being a first-gen daughter of immigrants.

4. Clarity over speed — the right direction matters more than moving fast in the wrong one.

5. Have a mentor. Be a mentor. - It shifts your perspective and keeps you grounded and accountable.

The early days of building @inhershoesmvmt taught me one invaluable thing I carry everywhere:

Someone else winning doesn’t mean you can’t.

In a world where it can be so easy to get caught up in comparison or competition, I’ve had so many conversations this month with women building the thing they’ve always dreamed of — and the same thought pattern keeps coming up. The belief that someone else’s success is taking away from theirs.

It’s not.

It’s not about comparing or competing — it’s asking: do you actually believe you can win in the first place? Scarcity is a deeply embedded conversation we each have unique relationships with. Don’t let a scarcity mindset keep you from a win.

Don’t change your goal. Change your mind.

Your win is still out there. Keep going. 🕯️
