Copper Harbor Trails Fest this year went exactly as expected - it was somehow even better than the last. Every year at this event gets more and more exciting, more core memories are made and most importantly, more friends. Many thanks to everyone at @copperharbortrailsclub for continuing to improve on an already excellent event year after year. I’m already looking forward to the next one as I’m sure we all are!

Here are a small handful of my favorite shots from the weekend. There are thousands more where these came from!

Side note: I’m super behind on photos currently, so excuse the major delay. I went on vacation to Colorado for a week and a half, but I’m back! I still have to work through photos from Duluth, Standing Rocks and Purgatory (well over 20,000 photos) before I really hammer down on photos from CHTF. Thank you (as always) for the patience! I will report progress ASAP!

Last week we had the honor of staying at @highlandsbikepark thanks to @loampass. It was an unbelievable experience. The grounds here have some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. The buildings are wrapped in lush green foliage and every flower bed is meticulously arranged. This is just the beginning.

The lift and its workers kept us in motion, rapidly resetting our runs. A full day here would have you aching for a delicious meal at the café and primed for the onsite hot tub for a relaxing evening.

The trails, albeit sandy, are some of the most fun trails I’ve ever ridden. The sand keeps you on your toes while providing a very unique experience. They have some excellent features and flow. With 27 trails totaling 34 miles, there are endless runs in your future.

Little last minute birthday edit for @alexandersonmtb!

We all appreciate your hard work and dedication to making not only @lake_superior_gravity_series possible but going above and beyond to create your own downhill series @downhillmidwest. You truly are such an incredible, inspiring and hardworking person. Thank you for all you do. Happy Birthday brother, we love you! 🫶

If there are audio glitches, I am not a videographer or video editor so I gave up on trying to fix them. If there aren’t any audio glitches - I know, I’m killing it 😅

Another Standing Rocks enduro for the books! There were new trails, old trails made new and a lot of friendly faces. If you haven’t been, it should definitely be on your to-do list.

The amount of work that went into these trails is remarkable. The @themidwestmobmtb and others really poured out their blood, sweat and tears to make these trails come to life - and it shows. I fully recommend coming to see them for yourself next year!

There are too many favorites from @duluthtrailsfest to put into a single post. I accidentally picked out over 300 photos that I was excited to share with everyone but that is way too many posts… or is it? 🤔

Anyway, getting to shoot this event as an official photographer was a total honor (and a ton of work). I cannot thank @pgreehan and @k.hoheisel enough for the warm welcome and consideration of me as a photographer. Forever grateful to them for that. It was also a privilege to work alongside two absolutely outstanding photographers, @kstarholden and @higherbasemedia. These two have such positive energy and are both so inspiring to watch. I hope we all get to work together again!

I’m also beyond grateful for the community and constant support from everyone over the years, it really means the world. I wouldn’t be where I am now without you all. I’m trying to refrain from being too sappy but this community truly has changed my life in ways that I could have never imagined. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. 🫶

Downhill Midwest stop two: done!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather on race day. Sunny, yet cool. We had a pretty full scope of the upper peninsula’s temperament weather this weekend. In any other situation, the weather would have made for a rough race weekend but not this time. Instead, it created the best dirt around and helped sculpt the trail into a masterpiece.

@alexandersonmtb did a tremendous job behind the scenes and on the front lines, from scheduling, emailing, putting up miles of tape, cutting trees, being an excellent MC, even racing his own even - He really does it all! Everything was very well planned and it showed. A huge thanks to the volunteers as well, they were an integral part in the process and execution of the course and race itself. And the biggest thanks goes out to @marquette_mountain for hosting the race despite the mountain being closed for the season! None of this could’ve happened without them!

It was an excellent weekend overall. Come race or spectate the next @downhillmidwest race in Duluth on the 27th of September. I’d love to see more people out there at the final stop of the year!

Downhill Midwest practice day two/seeding: done!

In typical Downhill Midwest fashion, the weather brought us fog. The trail also decided to change, transforming the sand into some of the finest hero dirt anyone has ever seen. With this change brought some sticky mud and slimy off camber sections that claimed a few riders. All in all, it was yet another great day for riding, despite the greasy and foggy conditions.

Can’t wait to see what the race brings today! See you out there!
