turning point usa came to my school today to spread hate speech & i had to flash them my top surgery scars. no matter the anger they spew they can't change the fact i'm here & a boy & living in a body i decided to take control of. no matter the propaganda they try to spread they can't change the fact i've been living in a post operation body for three years since june or remove the hrt i've been pushing into my blood for three years this november. the twink looking guy in the back yelled 'female nudity' at me & said i was a terrible debater because i simply stood before the microphone shirtless. in reality, when my body comes with so much context, & my very living is antithetical to your cause, i don't need words. standing before you, alive & breathing in this body is radical & argumentative & protest of its own. i left yelling i'm transgender & i love myself because that is the end of the argument when it comes to white supremacist organizations like turning point usa. @turningpointusa your hate will consume you. i'm transgender & i love myself!!!!!!!!!! end of argument. by @jules.tatum

i am winning this tug of war.
strength comes from resilience and dedication to yourself. choosing yourself and your wellbeing. i can proudly say that i am strong. i will choose queerness in every life. i will be rainn. rainn is not your girl. rainn is not your boy. my gender is not yours to take and manipulate. who i am and how i express myself and i'll shift as the current, for i am as queer as the ocean.

you can try and take that from me. cry, like a child on a playground.

when we were shooting jackie told me she's been wearing a leather collar out in reaction to the rise of purity culture in the US. this felt significant as two queer folks making art navigating the current political climate. pride this summer was the hottest i could remember, & yet people were more covered than ever. i could feel the restrictions on our bodies being reflected in real time- RESISTANCE IS OUR ONLY CHANCE AT A FUTURE. by @jules.tatum
