What was I talking about up there?

How an independent jeweler can compete for market share and cultural relevance alongside luxury Goliaths like Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels.

TOPSPIN became my proof.

I brought 20+ years of jewelry, instinct, relationships and boots-on-the-ground exchange. And none of it happens without my friends, mentors and community who have built, challenged, connected and grown with me along the way.

Luma gave me the technology to amplify all of that — developing creative and moving at the speed of culture without the infrastructure of a global luxury house.

AI didn’t create my point of view, my relationships or my influence. It gave me another tool to compete with them.

And now I want to take everything I’ve learned and build WITH talent as they enter jewelry — creating new IP, products and businesses together.

Independent doesn’t mean small.It means we can build differently.

🌟THE IDEA ISN’T THE TOOL. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! 🎊

Tonight in London, I’m speaking with Luma about how I used AI to develop the visual world around TOPSPIN.

TOPSPIN began with a very specific point of view: original fine jewelry for tennis, female athletes at the center, and a cultural strategy built around both.

The design came first.
The strategy came first.
The relationships came first.

Luma became one of the tools I used to move that vision at the speed of the moment — alongside photography, editorial, press, partnerships and working directly with talent.

Taylor Townsend wore TOPSPIN on and off court through her US Open championship run. Ayan Broomfield, Jaedyn Shaw and Trinity Rodman wore Bijules during the tournament.

She played and slayed in Bijules × Kamyen.

AI gave me another way to build and communicate the world I had already imagined — and to do it while culture was moving.

My practice has always been about building worlds: for brands, collaborators, talent, emerging designers and my own work. TOPSPIN brought all of those muscles together — design, strategy, relationships, storytelling and technology — around an idea I wanted to lead.

And I want more of that.

Building for others. Building for myself. Playing at the speed of culture.

🥇🙌OOOH LA LA 🙌🎉

Not everyone has to be an athlete to be a jewelry designer but let me tell you what- it can help;) I have been prepping for this tournament for years.

And it all started with a vibe.

As an independent jewelry designer I was not born into generational wealth or easy access. I worked my way into the luxury industry from nightlife and fashion- a path very few take, let’s say. So when I meet others pursuing the road less travelled I make sure I represent their dreams too.

Taylor Townsend has been a figure on my moodboard for years. Those who know, know- so when I had an opportunity to place diamonds on her- again… all I can say is GO GET IT!

Growing up I played volleyball- hard. My twin and I were state champs and she even went on to play D1. We learned how to train, perform and sustain our body and minds for peak performance which prepared me for the life of an independent jewelry designer;)

I’m keeping the pace.

Oh my goodness- this has been a week to celebrate and collaborate across tennis and the world as the wave of the @usopen takes a grip! I love it.

I had a vision on this project in 2022 when I was hanging with baller @haileybaptiste and thinking about what the future of female tennis athletes in jewelry could look like and now they can see. Now you can see. I did it ma!

💎🎉DIAMOND DUMP 💎🎉

Looking at sport. Looking at jewelry. Looking at how one becomes the other.

Making tiny basketballs and soccer balls out of pearls. Rethinking the tennis bracelet through the physical motion of a topspin forehand. Working with diamonds, enamel, gold, nails, athletes, friends and other people who know how to make shit.

And walking around New York collecting references everywhere I go.

This week TOPSPIN launched during the US Open, and suddenly an idea I’ve been building for a long time is out in the world — on wrists, around necks, and in the press.

I’ve always believed jewelry can be a way of recording culture. Right now, I’m interested in sport not simply as sport, but as identity, ritual, design, obsession, competition and community.

Anyway. This is what I’m doing.

Megan.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to hold onto you.

We grew up in that strange space between analog and digital, where we weren’t documenting every second because we never imagined we’d one day need those photos to remember. So now I’m gathering stories, calling in old pictures(send them if you have them), making playlists, reading my childhood journals and trying to find something to hold onto.

You were my best friend from the time I was 13.

You introduced me to so many firsts—red lipstick, Tiffany bracelets, dressing up because it felt good, driving Faquita with nowhere to be, dancing until morning, and flirting shamelessly with college guys along the way. So much of the woman I became started with you.

My New York friends know this version of me, but they never knew who inspired her.

That was Megan.

You were goofy, impossibly beautiful, smart as a whip, and endlessly curious. You made life feel bigger, more adventurous, and a lot more fun.

Too bad time wasn’t on your side, my baddie bitch.

I’ve still got some left, and I’ll keep living with a little bit of you in everything I do.
