My brave Noble turned 10, 3 wks ago. Sweet Serafina turned 5, 1 wk ago. And today, today I turned an age in the 45-50 bracket.

Noble & I are in Geneseo for some testing and thought a whirlpool tub in our room might be the best medicine. Little fish. 🐠

Watching families grow from in front of and behind the lens year after year is one of those blessings that are absolutely unmatched. That incredible woman you see has been my Bess, bestie, sister from another mister, ride or die, therp, confidant, codependent teen bff, concert traveling, roommate, teacher, guide, shoulder, pedestal, queen, MOH, voice, reason, waker-upper, educator, activism never giver upper, hugger, LOVE, partner in this life that’s been one helluva ride since we were tweens. To know someone through almost every decade of life, every love, every heartache, dream, downfall, all of it - literally see their life unfold before your eyes. I don’t know how I got so lucky to land in the town I did, at that school, in that art class, on that day, but y’all, when someone says “I don’t know what I’d do without you?” - this is what they mean. So to say I’ve gotten to witness her incredible family grow together from behind the lens - I mean the culmination of all of those things through now and WHAT A GIFT THAT IS. Pure magic. Pure Gratitude.

So much gratitude. This family absolutely melts me in the way they love each other and put it out into the universe. Choosing to amplify love, support, solidarity, empathy, sympathy, gratitude, and activism to those around them and beyond. They tell you to find your people and hang on, well, these are some of the good ones, folks.

Honoring all veterans today, especially those from my family. My brother (above w. his family from our recent shoot) was a US Army paratrooper in a special forces unit and served in the Iraq war. I’m not good with the lingo, nor the ranks, I just know what he did was selfless and brave and honorable and I’m proud as hell of him.

That 1st picture, tho 🤣💙

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.”

11th November is Remembrance Day in the UK and Canada, Veterans Day in the US, and November is military family month. The marks of service run deep, the scars often unseen. Service members put their lives on the line to give us the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Today, take a moment to think of what it must be like to be halfway around the world, in a foreign and hostile land where you are never safe. Imagine not seeing your spouse, parent, or children for months on end. Imagine raising your children alone, all while endlessly worrying about your deployed loved one. Today, and every day, we thank war heroes and veterans for their service.

Oh, hi. It’s been a minute. I have so much to say & feeling so heavy these days, I feel manic. Lots of work to do and feel like my mind & body are simultaneously tying themselves in knots. What’s grounding & centering are my sweet, innocent kiddos constantly looking for the light. One full of anxiety and bravery, while the other full of cautious optimism and fearlessness. And all they want? To give, feel, and be LOVED. My little Speaker of the House right there is counting on me to make it possible to get her there one day. With every ounce of me, girl, I GOTCHU. ✊🏼🖤

He’s a self proclaimed dictator. He’s a convicted felon. He’s a rapist. He’s a racist. He’s a bigot. He’s a misogynist. He’s a chauvinist. He’s a fraud. He was impeached, twice. He’s an inciter. He’s dangerous. America is not safe. Ukraine is not safe. Palestine is not safe. Taiwan is not safe. I’m scared. I’m sad. I’m disappointed. I’m disgusted. I’m angry. I’m gonna keep fighting

Republicans have control of the presidency, Senate, Supreme Court. And the House is still unknown. The *worst case scenario* is upon us, and I fear, worse than we think possible. If you’re not terrified, you’re not paying attention.

My sweet, sweet brave boy. That is my mantra for you. And to my scrappy Serafina, you too, love. You think she stepped on that big round rock to pass through, or the flat part to the left of it? Check stories to find out. IYKYK

We said goodbye to an incredible soul on this day one week ago. Goodbyes are much too hard, but talking about how immensely they are loved and still present in so many hearts, lessens the ache. @christina_maser_co @gretchenmaser was a She-Ra -Mary Poppins of a woman and we are all beyond lucky to have had her in our lives. Her soul shines on so brightly in all she touched and poured her heart into… Especially in her sister, our Auntie @lynda_kimball … And in true Serafina fashion, she farted loud & proud in the middle of auntie’s heartfelt eulogy. We love you. ❤️

If a quote could sum up my little taking on this world with all of his anxiety. So proud of him each and every day. Took this while reading to him, want to keep this vision in my pocket as he grows. Cherish this time with him each night.

We made a flip book. Relaxed. Intense. Relaxed. Intense. You see it, right?😆 He’s often very uneasy in front of my lens, but sometimes he’ll ask for 2 minutes.
Great job, Noble. I love you more than all the stars 👑✨

When I think of horses, I think of my backyard for part of my childhood, feeding them through the paddock next to our blueberry bushes. I think of taking my kids to Grampy & Grandma’s and racing along the paddock with them, learning how to feed them, love them, all the while staying safe. And now I get to see them in a whole other beautiful light. This woman is a real life horse whisperer, it’s like she lives in our time and in the Wild West, and in medieval Scotland all wrapped in a pretty time lapse bow. She’s a force and you’d be lucky to see her glide right by, as if she became a centaur right before your eyes. And if you’re wondering if she’s a graceful horseback archer, you’re absolutely correct. Thanks for letting me witness your talent, @aviselafinf18 🏹🐎
