Fam, here is an excerpt from my short documentary “The Beautiful Nothing” about the late artist, Bobby Anspach.

You can find this film screening on loop at the @newportartmuseum for the next few days before the show comes to a close.

I didn’t know him very well, but I think Bobby would be proud of what we’ve done.

My latest short documentary THE BEAUTIFUL NOTHING opened last night at the Newport Art Museum !!

It will be up from now until September 28th as part of EVERYTHING IS CHANGE - an exhibit featuring the mesmerizing sculptures of Bobby Anspach.

👁️👁️👁️

I’ve had the honor of working on this short documentary about Bobby’s life’s work for the past five months. I am so grateful to the over 400 people who came to our opening and so excited that this film and this story is now out in the world. If you can make it to @newportartmuseum I highly encourage experiencing these remarkable pieces in person.

I’ve been learning how to pole dance for ✨1 Year ✨

Putting aside the fact that apparently I’m stupid strong and I had no idea, pole dance has gifted me such a grounded, badass community of women cheering for each other every single day. And by cheering, I mean screaming, sweating, jumping for joy, hugging, applauding, crying, writhing on the floor, gagging for each other levels of cheerleading.

It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. And what’s hilarious is when you’re in there, the male gaze is the last thing anyone’s thinking about. I promise you. We’re mainly thinking about how to
A) literally not die
B) look as hot as possible for ourselves in the mirror
C) not permanently break our bones

I’m certainly thinking about how challenging and mentally rewarding it is. It’s so hard and painful in fact you can’t possibly be thinking about anything else. It’s weirdly relaxing. I feel like an athlete in my mid-30’s for the first time since I was a kid. I refuse to believe anything is too late to try and how powerful it is for the brain to witness the progress and constant ups-and-downs that comes with consistently showing up for yourself and keep your commitment to fucking do the thing.

@gentlemothh is a fabulous activist musician and pole dancer raising awareness for legal change to protect s*x workers. Please follow her immediately. She’s creating beautiful art and doing hard work to protect str*ppers and s*x workers from the police force themselves, who are currently legally protected in the assault of these workers. These are our friends, family members and neighbors, and that is obviously not ok.

Thank you to the str*ppers for pioneering this unparalleled sport. (god I hate needing to censor that word it feels so pathetic)

Thank you to @casapoledance for welcoming me into the Newburgh community with arms wide open and changing my view of myself. My teachers @cassmoneypoles @siena_primeaux @love.rose.pole Latoya , @missleggzz for being my body double and muse @cerulean.spins for doing it first!! Showing me what being a beginner at something like this even looks like.

Huge congratulations to my friend @_carrtoons_ for the release of his album SPACE CADET.

✨ August 11th, 2025 ✨

My beautiful sister Joanna Mitchell, married her epic lover and my new brother, @michivitali on a lake in upstate New York earlier this month.

This is what it looked like, and here were some highlights:

✨ The dock that the entire wedding was seated on almost sank into the lake during the vowes.

✨Both my sister and her spouse missed their cues down the aisle because we accidentally started the ceremony without telling them.

✨Someone streaked through the ceremony wedding in a Speedo and a walrus mask.

✨Alannah, @fatjaguar my chosen sister and date danced with me all night to live music.

✨And at one point my dad passionately pulls me off the dance floor exclaiming he “has a present for me” to reveal a telescope on the lakeshore pointing straight at the moon. 💔

It was chaos. It was theatrical. And it was damn near perfect.

I love my family so much.
