POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I am so excited to share the cover of my new book, Holding Onto What’s Mine: Bad Bunny, Winning, and Cultural Power. I have been pouring months of research, interviews, writing, and my whole heart into this book.

You can now pre-order the book, which comes out February 2, 2027!!!

Comment Book (or anything else) and I’ll send you the link to pre-order.

I am going to say it loud and proudly, I want to get to 10,000 pre-orders. I am saying it out loud because I want to share this journey of getting there with you. I’ve seen a lot of famous authors get to this number, and even more, so why not me? Why not a book about us, for us, by us?

I believe in the power of us!

Through this book I insist that success cannot be measured by the individual alone, but by how it is leveraged to achieve better economic, political, and social outcomes for our community.

Thank you for supporting my work. Here’s to 10,000 pre-orders. by @julissaarce

Last week I took part in the Read Them Home action in D.C to raise the alarm about the harms immigrant detention is causing children.

There are currently more than 6,200 children in detention. Babies, kids, toddlers, are sitting in a kind-of jail. They do not belong there. They belong at home, with their families, teachers, and friends.

I am deeply grateful for the leadership of @staceyabrams @aijenp and everyone who led this day. Thank you for not forgetting about the kids.

If you want to get involved, call your member of Congress remind them that children deserve to be home.

💰 Check your 401(k). You might be funding immigrant detention without even knowing it.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has opened the door for Latino families to be targeted for simply looking Latino.

🚨 While our families suffer, private prison companies like CoreCivic and GEO are cashing in—with their stocks up nearly 50% in the last year, backed by Vanguard, BlackRock, Fidelity, and even pension funds.

This is an economy of cruelty. Our families are not for profit.

Pero Nosotros Somos América. And we have the economic power to shut it down. ✊🏽

If you think cuts to diversity, equity, and inclusion don’t affect you, think again. They impact the workplaces, business opportunities, and households of white women, gay and straight men, and of course, women of color.

There are about 75 million women in the American workforce. This country cannot afford a single day without a working woman. So protecting the laws and policies that protect her actually protects all of us.

I don’t want to quit my job to stay home with my kid. And that’s ok! I do however want life to be more affordable. Policies like capping childcare costs to 7% of a family’s income would help. Paid parental leave would help.

I pay how much for childcare?!?? 😳

How are Latinas supposed to save and invest when everything- from gas, to groceries, to childcare— is so expensive. And at the same time we earn less than white men (and women).

We know the problem, so what do we do about it?

@latinoprosperity drafted “The Latina Economic Agenda” with ten specific priorities to address many of the factors that create the Latina wealth gap in the first place.

Comment “Agenda” and I’ll send you a link to the full report.

Can you imagine a day without a working woman? How about a day without Latina entrepreneurs?
Latina-owned small businesses power the U.S. economy. But the gains we have made are at risk.

The attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion are changing which businesses get access to government contracts, capital, and business support.

Think about the Latina-owned businesses in your own life: the company making your healthy snacks, the designer in your closet, the accountant filing your taxes.

Without them we lose jobs, wages, opportunity and the businesses keeping this country moving.

A day without Latina entrepreneurs? That is a day America cannot afford.

Writing a book is not for the faint of heart. Researching, editing, writing “Holding Onto What’s Mine: Bad Bunny, Winning, and Cultural Power” has been such a labor of love. I am still in the thick of edits, but the hardest part for me is always the first draft and that’s been done.

New book is out April 27, 2027! Pre-order now. 🫶🏾

I can still feel the warmth of the tears that rolled down my face one night in 2007, shortly after my dad died, when I wrote in my journal: “One day, I am going to write a book, and all this shit will have been for something.”
Eight years later, in September 2016, after leaving my corporate job, I published my first book, My (Underground) American Dream.

Ten years later, I find myself I find myself returning to the promise I made in that journal: Has it all been for something?
