Los Angeles is my NUMBER ONE audience city, and this Mexican American guy from South Texas made those 40 hours count. 👀 I got interviews done, connected with inspiring Latinos I have followed for years, and built new relationships. 🎤 Being together reminded me how much talent and determination we have in our community. I work to keep our people informed wherever they live. Getting to meet face to face reminded me who I am doing this with and why I keep going. 🤎

With elections coming up, I want us to SHOW UP and put that power to work. 🗳️ I am tired of rhetoric that treats Latinos like a problem while taking our work, money, and contributions for granted. Apparently, our labor is welcome but our opinions need an invitation. Qué conveniente.

We have always been part of this country, and I want us helping decide its future. Each of us has a role. Vote if you can. Help someone get informed. Organize. Our ancestors worked too hard for us to spend our energy tearing each other down.

I believe we can build lasting change together and leave future generations more than another struggle to survive. ✊🏽

Portraits I photographed for @hustleheartcollective 🌻 sponsored by @corissahernandez

I loved being able to capture the artists, entrepreneurs, musicians and business owners of Los Angeles.

Honored to be part in shooting portraits at this years @hustleheartcollective and to capture how we are all blooming together.

LA always shows me all the heart and hustle that of the city, that we show up for each other, celebrate the wins and hold each during times of grief and turmoil.

As much it was about networking and learning, it was also about gathering together to share our love for our city & community. I’m grateful to have been part capturing this events speakers and guest. Know that there is a lot of love and intention with the work I do. I’m proud of my city.
I LOVE YOU LA. 💐

Lastly, big congratulations to @corissahernandez who is the founder of @hustleheartcollective! It was so special.

These weeks in LA have been filled with beautiful reminders of the journey: when we sow intentionally for years, with love and consistency, we reap treasures that keep on giving.

Reconnecting with so many friends and women in our community—some whose journeys have intertwined with mine for over 15 years—has been such a gift. Witnessing each other’s growth, including the kind that happens quietly within, has reaffirmed how much I love sharing my story and helping other women share theirs @alegriapublishing
✨🫶🏽
I felt so blessed to be invited by my friend @corissahernandez to moderate “Ambition Rewritten,” alongside women and friends I admire, @julisaarce and @anaflores, and to meet a sweet powerhouse @ezinneprice
✨🫶🏽
Sharing this beautiful, honest conversation reminded me that my dharma has always been rooted in the arts and communication. I’m manifesting more opportunities to share, connect, and create spaces for our stories in 2027 and beyond. ✨

Thank you, @hustleandheartcollective, for bringing us together, and @corissahernandez, for everything you are. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday on Latina Equal Pay Day for Turning Latina Economic Power Into Real Wealth.

Latinas contribute $1.3 trillion to the U.S. economy, yet too little of that turns into wealth they own. Yesterday we shared a first look at the Latina Economic Power Agenda: ten priorities to change that, from child care and homeownership to AI.

Our thanks to the panelists who made the conversation what it was:

Norma Fernandez, CEO, Everyone On
Julissa Arce, bestselling author, activist, and producer
Marla Bilonick, President and CEO, NALCAB

A special thank you to our own Dr. Marlene Orozco for presenting the agenda and moderating a great discussion.

Missed it? The full recording is on YouTube. Link in bio.

The agenda is still a draft, and we want your help shaping the final version. Tell us what we got right and what’s missing.

Narrative nonfiction from a Mexican immigrant who speaks about the dangers of the assimilation we teach Latinos in the US. In 2 parts, she breaks down the lies we are told: the lie of whiteness, the lie of English, and the lie of success, as well as the reclaiming of our history, identity, and culture.

A must read for anyone who wants to learn more about the immigrant experience and why they cling to their beloved heritage, in a country that tells them constantly that they should both get out and be more American.

🎧: Extracurricular by Rachel Lynn Solomon
I am very easily influenced. I saw @beachybookends read this so I put it on hold on libby. By the time @kimbetweenthelines was raving about it. I was experiencing major FOMO. Great book!! I loved Ramona and Nick so much.

📱: ARC: If Not You by Ellen O’Clover
I can’t believe I never read this author before. Mattie was my girl! I adored her.

🎧: The Romance Revival by Christina Lauren
Written by Christina Lauren and an FMC in STEM. Sign me right up lol

🎧📱: You Sound Like A White Girl by Julissa Arce
I’m so glad I read this. As a history lover there was a lot of stuff I knew in this book already but there were things I never know. Tbh I nearly cried. This also blends current events. If you need a nonfiction rec this is a great one.

📱: Let’s Pretend by E Salvador
E has no problem writing a book that captivates you! I can’t wait to finish this duet.
