The day I've been waiting for has finally arrived... I'm proud to officially announce that I'm this year's National Champion for the Starbucks Barista Championship, after my 4th year of competing and 2nd year at Nationals.

Everything truly came together for me this year. I've had so much support from around the world allowing me to show off the best side of myself today, and I was able to take home the win.

A special thanks of course to my biggest coffee ambassador inspiration who's been here since the start @havermansfleur, it all started with us two.

And of course my biggest thanks to @clymene_98, who has allowed me to follow her on her journey, and has taken me under her wing this year for mine.

I won't downplay the work I've put into this (it was a lot) but without the support and love from all the partners, champions and other support, I could not have done it.

Please everyone, go follow @barista.champion.nl to see Julia's final weeks/months on the account and eventually my journey to London at the EMEA Barista Championship in September. by @julius.wess

And so, it ends where it began, eating gyūkatsu in Shibuya. I'm gonna miss the cheap dinners (and my friends of course). See you soon, 日本 taken in Hachiko Square Shibuya Japan by @julius.wess
