I’m excited to share that I’ll be starting my MPhil in Population Health Sciences at the @cambridgeuniversity University of Cambridge, with the fully funded Mastercard Foundation Scholarship!
In addition to this incredible opportunity, I was honoured to receive multiple fully funded offers, including:
* Oxford Population Health Studentship at the University of Oxford
* Commonwealth Shared Scholarship at the University of Oxford
* Commonwealth Shared Scholarship at the University College London
* Reserve candidate for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship at University of Cambridge and University of Edinburgh
I am deeply grateful to God for these opportunities.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I’m beyond grateful to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Cambridge @mfsp_cambridgeuniversity for selecting me for this prestigious scholarship.

Here’s to Laju’s Cambridge year and to using this next chapter to make meaningful impact in public health across Africa. by @jum.ade_

Last week Saturday, I had an amazing time commemorating the #worldmalariaday2025 with members of the @kickoutmalariainitiative at the Police college, Ikeja. This was done in collaboration with @healthdrivenigeria, SCOPH-LASUCOM, @lasumsaofficial.

We had an awareness walk where we had one on one discussions with members in the community about what malaria is and what it is not, and how to prevent getting infected with malaria. We emphasized the need to be tested for malaria before starting treatment and also completing medications to prevent resistance to antimalaria medications.

Following the awareness walk, we had an outreach where we screened residents for Malaria, and administered antimalaria medications to those who tested positive. We also screened them for Hepatitis B virus, blood glucose and blood pressure.

It was an amazing Saturday and we look forward to doing this next year

Last weekend, I was in the beautiful city of Accra, Ghana with 14 other finalists for the @rhodestrust Rhodes Scholarship for West Africa.

I arrived in Accra on Thursday and met with other finalists where I got to share my experiences with them and learnt a lot about them as well.
Later that evening, we visited the former president of Ghana, Ex president John Kufuor.

Then we had dinner with @ike_chioke , the @rhodes_wa national secretary where he shared how it took 23 years to recommence the Rhodes Scholarship in West Africa after it was stopped in Nigeria and Ghana.

The next morning we had a training session where I learnt a lot about leadership and emotional intelligence.

Friday evening, we had dinner where we met with the selection committee. They were all so warm. I had a great time talking to them, learning about them and what they do.

On the day of the interview, I had the 20 mins of fame to share my career goals with the selection committee. Out of 14 finalists, 3 winners were selected and I wasn't one of them. Although I didn't win this, I'm glad for the rich experience I had. I got to meet with some of the brightest minds in West Africa and I must say it was an amazing weekend.
I have been putting into practice some of the things I learnt especially on emotional intelligence and leadership and I can say I'm a better doctor overall.

Big congratulations to the winners @ewere_ea , @ablavi_mawugbe and @the_ayomikun. The world is a better place because of you, and I'm rooting for you all as I can't wait to see all your dreams come true.

Thank you to Rhodes @rhodes_wa for this huge opportunity.

To my fellow finalists, see you all in great places. Cheers. taken in Accra, Ghana by @jum.ade_
