Our hearts and thoughts go out to our friends and colleagues at Florida State. In our time of need this week, they were among the first to offer help. Tonight, rehearsing for our school’s final concert next week, we recorded this prayer.

May our voices offer healing and love to all who are hurting.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to support the JU Orchestra’s final concert. It meant the world. Congratulations to our incredible soloists: Irsia Ruiz Guzmán (Violin), Andrew Keller (Horn), and Isaiah Jackson (Cello) for their breathtaking concerto performances. Deepest gratitude to our leadership: Assistant Conductor Coleman Lauderdale, Guest Conductor Chris Dobbins, and our amazing Conductor Marguerite Richardson.

To our graduating seniors congrats! Saying goodbye to JU is no easy thing. As we all move forward, we wish each of you the brightest future ahead.

But as we close this chapter, let us be clear: the music department is the soul of this university. To take it away is to silence a voice that refuses to go unheard. We are JU. We are music. We are not going quietly. taken in JU Terry Concert Hall by @jumusicarchive
