IT’S (ALMOST) THE WEEKEND 🚨 A couple announcements as we get ready for some riding over the next couple of days: — The Women’s Ride on Sunday has been postponed due to rain. We will announce a new date for that ride soon. Stay tuned to Strava. — We have two groups departing tomorrow morning. The 50mi group (17-19mph pace, leaving at 10:00am) and the 30mi group (15mph, leaving at 11:00am). Both end with beers at Nightshift. Both start at 160 Comm Ave. RSVP via Strava so we can properly allocate ride leads and please read through our website for more info. — If you’re looking for a jersey, there are a couple left. Also check out our website for more. RIDE EXPECTATIONS ‼️: For those new and old to the Junction program, please read through these ride expectations and listen tomorrow before we depart. 1) Follow Boston’s cycling laws. Point out obstructions, potholes, etc. Stop at stop signs and stop lights. Respect vehicles and other riders. Read up on this via our website. It’s the law. 2) This is a group ride. That means we ride as a group. If you plan to push the pace, overtake ride leads, ride recklessly, or ride alone ahead of the group, you will be asked to leave. 3) These are no-drop rides. Similar to the idea of not being a pace pusher, do not hold the group up. Pick the right group for you. We offer something for everyone so if you’re questioning joining the 50mi group, just join the 30mi group. If you’re questioning joining the 30mi group, come join our 20mi coffee rides on Tuesday mornings. We will leave no one behind, but that infers that you respected other riders by choosing your group correctly. 4) These rides are self-supported. We will always have leads available to assist with mechanicals, but please come prepared with your own tubes/tools/etc… 5) Let’s have fun. Respect the road. Respect other riders. Cheers, team. ❤️‍🔥 TLDR; even more of a reason to wake up at 5:00am for Tuesday’s ride. At the start of this year we started getting a lot of questions about when, or if, we were going to do a custom kit. Truth is we’d wanted to for a while. But the last thing we wanted was to slap our logo on a random jersey from a random website. A bit of a crux one would say (real ones get it). No making things for the sake of making things. There has to be a reason. That idea extends to everything about Junction — no one is in a rush to do things a little different. We wanted this jersey to point back to where our logo comes from: a Strava map from a random ride where we followed no particular route. We just followed the roads that felt right. That’s the logo outline and the path interweaving across every panel. The background gradient is a photograph of a wet Boston road, converted into an Illustrator brushstroke, laid across the fabric. The key to the whole thing was working with @assos_usa to build it on a fit and a fabric we already loved. A few months later, here we are. We hope you enjoy. There’s a very limited number and this is the only time we’ll make this particular jersey. Hopefully it’s the start of making more. If you’re interested in one, please take a look at our website (you read that right, website, woah) linked in the bio to check out more information. You cannot purchase via the site right now because we are giving people at this Tuesday’s ride first dibs. We’ll have them for sale at the end of the ride. If there are any remaining, we plan to sell them via the website starting Tuesday afternoon. Either way — thank you for being part of the team whether you’ve been here since last September or last week. Happy 1 year of Junction.
