It's hard to believe it's been one month since I lost you. You spent a little over 2 years fitting right into our little lives. It's hard to imagine the time before you were here. It's hard to live in a time when you're not here anymore. You completed our little family. I miss you everyday and I know I'm not the only one 🩷 by @jurneeneek

It's been a week and The Pack hasn't been the same without you. Dodie misses you in the sleepy afternoons and mornings when you used to secretly cuddle. Bungie misses his boyfriend and his wrestling partner. Francis misses burrowing underneath the blankets and competing for affection with you. They all miss you on walks and sunbathing in the backyard. We all miss you and your infectious charm. ❤️

I began my day with bad news.

My day had started in the middle of the night, taking my son (lil one) to the emergency vet. He was then after a few hours given a terminal diagnosis.
What proceeded that following day, I can only describe as the best of the worst days of my life.
I feel lucky to have had this day, to make it your perfect last day & I feel guilty for any dog that didn't get theirs.
Many of his loved ones gathered in person and in spirit (a huge thank you to all who came to support or reached out to me) to give him showers of affection and bundles of kisses, all to be followed by a string of delicious meals.
A lamb burger cooked in bacon fat with goat and cheddar cheese topped with bacon. Followed by a dessert of mango ice cream with fresh cut mangos and a Reeses cup to top it all off.
He took himself out to the back yard to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes, sun bathing.
We then got him back inside and tucked in bed. Every dog and person made their way to say their goodbyes.

With so much kindness and humanity @compassionatecarepdx helped us have an easy graceful at home euthanasia.
My Chubba Bun lovingly gazed at me off and on as he enjoyed the last bite of a perfect mango and I kissed his head and held him in my arms for the last time as he fell asleep.

After 15 years in food service, it's time to finally close this chapter. Ever since I was a little girl I have played coffee shop/ bakery/ restaurant. There are so many many things I have loved about making people coffee/pastries and serving it to them. But the thing I will miss most of all is that connection and community you build when you provide exceptional service. I will miss all of your smiles and hearing about your day. I'm moving on to patient services at a clinic and I'm excited to see where it takes me. I will be celebrating the end of an era at The Vern tomorrow night if anyone wants to join!

And she has left me. It's hard to create and let go.
I put a lot of energy and time into this painting for the winter art exchange.

I used exclusively watercolors for the whole painting

I have been learning and teaching myself a lot about watercolors over the last few years and I really feel like this painting represents how far I have come.

As you can see I started with a small sample painting (which I only do if I'm serious about a project). Then I did the background moving on to the outer most border next the most time consuming thing by a landslide the individual frames and lastly the flowers.

It's hard to create and let go but I take comfort in knowing that I'm adding beauty to someone's life

Happy adoption day to my sweet sweet man. When I agreed to take you in a year ago I thought I was doing you a favor and a good deed. Now I understand that I am the lucky one. I got the sweetest most cuddliest weirdest wonderful dog in the world. I love my Little One, my Chubba Bun!
