I began my day with bad news.

My day had started in the middle of the night, taking my son (lil one) to the emergency vet. He was then after a few hours given a terminal diagnosis.
What proceeded that following day, I can only describe as the best of the worst days of my life.
I feel lucky to have had this day, to make it your perfect last day & I feel guilty for any dog that didn't get theirs.
Many of his loved ones gathered in person and in spirit (a huge thank you to all who came to support or reached out to me) to give him showers of affection and bundles of kisses, all to be followed by a string of delicious meals.
A lamb burger cooked in bacon fat with goat and cheddar cheese topped with bacon. Followed by a dessert of mango ice cream with fresh cut mangos and a Reeses cup to top it all off.
He took himself out to the back yard to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes, sun bathing.
We then got him back inside and tucked in bed. Every dog and person made their way to say their goodbyes.

With so much kindness and humanity @compassionatecarepdx helped us have an easy graceful at home euthanasia.
My Chubba Bun lovingly gazed at me off and on as he enjoyed the last bite of a perfect mango and I kissed his head and held him in my arms for the last time as he fell asleep.

Goodnight my sweet prince, my sun, my moon, my stars

I will always love you.

Some things have been a little dark out in the world I haven't exactly been motivated to post these but since we've had some really beautiful days recently I feel motivated a little more

took the opportunity of this beautiful season to take my brother, and visit the portland Japanese garden for the first time while he was visiting.

I absolutely love the cherry blossoms that bloom around here in memorial of the Japanese incarceration camps. It's both a heavy memorial and a very beautiful one and I love going to visit it every year.

So shout out the to yin yang of the human experience we're all experiencing, and don't forget to stop and smell the flowers, They don't last long 🌸💕

After a morning of lounging at the villa we had the absolute pleasure of touring the @yiannarakis_olive_estate with Rafail and learning more so much about the harvesting process of olive oil and so many fun facts about olive trees, they are practically gold, passed down for generations olive trees can be thousands of years old, this orchers youngest trees are 60 years old and oldest are 500-1000 years old.

Rafail Yiannarakis, an award winning professional olive oil taster who works across the world, tought us how to taste for quality olive oil, things like how to feel the burn in your throat and bitterness on your tounge. And starved us a beautiful Cretan lunch with home grown tomatoes and herbs obviously topped with glorious golden olive oil, including the ice cream

Amazing 10/10 👏 and proceeded to buy a ton of olive oil to take home and successfully didn't break any of it in my suitcase

Then quickly visited the botanical garden before heading home and making homemade pizza in the villas pizza oven, I would love to try that again and perfect the brick oven

All of Greece felt so unreal, I've never been so far from home and it's certainly something I'll always treasure. There's absolutly to much to put in one post so here's the first day, mostly recovering from jet lag ( 😩😩😩), exploring Plaka, and graveyards w/ beautiful graves and statues, cats, and creepy stuff
