40? Yeah, I’m actually pretty okay with it.

Still got it, still causing trouble, and clearly still surrounded by people who encourage my questionable behaviour.

Couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of humans to celebrate this milestone with. My heart is full, my feet have recovered, and I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. ❤️

400kg ✅

The number that’s been the goal for a very long time… and he made it look ridiculously easy.

Getting to do it surrounded by the @_strengthworkshop_ crew, the same people he coaches, trains with and watches chase their own goals every week — made this one pretty special.

They’ve built such a solid crew. They train together, push each other and make damn sure everyone is chasing their goals and getting the job done. It’s pretty bloody cool to watch.

And a massive credit to @stand_or_submit for creating The Asylum. A stage for athletes to do things most people can’t even comprehend — break records, chase huge numbers and tick off goals like this with the spotlight actually on them. Such a cool concept and an even better atmosphere to do it in.

Anyone who knows Dan knows he’ll play this down and say it’s nothing. But 400kg isn’t nothing. He’s worked bloody hard for it, he earned it, and this is absolutely one of those times he should give himself the same pat on the back that everyone else is giving him.

400kg. Goal ticked. ✅

Head referee by title. Event director by choice. Crisis manager by necessity. Professional problem solver, occasional therapist, and collector of rogue athletes. Proud owner of a clipboard, two-way radio, a whistle, an iPad, and an unhealthy ability to function in pure chaos. 😅

Australia’s Strongest might have my name attached to it, but none of this happens without the incredible team around me. They back my wild ideas, work their arses off, tolerate my occasional meltdowns, and help bring this whole thing to life. I genuinely couldn’t do it without them, and I’m so grateful for every single one of them.

I complain about the stress, threaten retirement at least twice every event, and swear I’m never doing it again.

But the truth is, I absolutely love this. I love watching athletes achieve incredible things, I love seeing the sport grow, and I love doing it alongside this amazing team that I call my family.

It’s exhausting. It’s hectic. It tests my patience and my organisational skills in equal measure. And somehow, despite the stress and the annual threats of retirement, I wouldn’t change a thing.

It’s a good time. 🤠

Four big rigs and a whole crew rolled into Sydney @meatstock from around the country loaded to the absolute brim with equipment for @australias.strongest Man & Woman 2026.

12 months of planning. Endless phone calls, DMs and emails. Rules written. Weights tested. Shirts pressed. Media organised. Problems solved daily. Then somehow… we all landed at Sydney Olympic Park and pulled the whole thing off with only minor emotional damage. 😂

I’ll say this loud every single time — Australia’s Strongest is not just me. It’s all of us. The crew, loaders, refs, media team, commentators, sponsors, promoters, athletes, spectators and every single person behind the scenes doing the jobs nobody sees. Every role matters.

The weeks leading up to comp are organised chaos. Very little sleep, highly caffeinated, phones ringing nonstop, messages pinging nonstop and a to-do list that reproduces overnight. But the reason the weekend ran the way it did comes down to planning and having the right people around us — solving problems before they even become problems.

And honestly? I bloody love it. The pressure, the chaos, the “this seemed like a fantastic idea 12 months ago” moments. The goal will always be to keep levelling up and building something bigger and better for the athletes, crew and spectators every single year.

Now the adrenaline’s worn off a little and the emotional support Red Bulls have stopped working, I’m just really darn proud of what WE are building together.

So thank you.
To every single person who played a part in this weekend — you are Australia’s Strongest too.

What a ride. From touching down in Dallas and hopping into a Texas-sized Ford Expedition, we road-tripped 3,300 km 🚗 across the South and flew 29,000 km ✈️ across the country. (And yes… the exchange rate did me so dirty 😭💳).

New York City at Christmas — ice skating under skyscrapers, the buzz, the magic — real-life movie set. Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry nearly had me crying into my boots — the heart of country music hits different when you’re sitting right where legends have stood.

Austin — live music from lunchtime to 3am, day vibes rolling into night vibes without even taking a breath.
San Antonio — the River Walk lit up for the season, and BBQ so good it should honestly be illegal.
New Orleans — jazz, gumbo, and personality for days — chaotic in the best possible way.
Fort Worth — cattle drives, cowboy hats, and that old-school Western charm that just felt right.
Nashville — honky-tonks for miles, country music everywhere you turn, and a heartbeat that thumps in twang and steel guitar. The home of country — and yes, I felt completely at home. 🤠🎶

And if you asked me my favourite? I honestly couldn’t pick one.
Every place had its own flavour, its own energy, its own kind of magic.

And of course… Buc-ee’s.
Not a servo. Not a stop.
A national institution. 🦫✨
Plus Cracker Barrel, serving home-style comfort that hits you right in the nostalgia.

Driving on the wrong side of the road? Mastered it. Eventually. 😅
And America does Christmas bigger, brighter and bolder — the lights, the fun, the full buy-in from everyone… Australia doesn’t even come close.

Coming back to Australia? It’s like going from a playlist blasting at full volume to the slow, smooth vinyl version. One minute it’s Broadway neon and honky-tonk bands at 2 AM… the next it’s familiar roads, familiar accents, and a flat white done right — with the pace turned way down.

We are lucky to live where we do — Australia is bloody brilliant. But the USA?
It’s loud, chaotic, unapologetic, full of history and full of heart.
It kind of grabs you and says, “Let’s live a little.”
And I loved every second of it.

USA — you oversized, unforgettable, absolutely iconic beast.
God bless America. 🇺🇸❤️

Official Strongman Games 2025!
Arlington, TX

Three huge days of competition wrapped into one massive week of 7am–7pm work.
@officialstrongmangames doesn’t do anything by halves — and that’s exactly why I love being a part of it.

A huge shout-out to @lynncelot and the crew. What it takes to bring athletes from every corner of the world onto one stage is massive. The planning, the logistics, the long days… it’s huge. Grateful to play even a small role in something that big.

I had the privilege of reffing across the weekend — and getting to make calls on legends like @savickas_bigz , @markfelixwsm , @dimitarsavatinovstrong and @jfcaronstrongman was a real “wow, this is cool” moment.

Massive congratulations to @josh_theviking_patacca on his Open Men’s win. Could not be prouder — definitely a proud AS-mum moment. He worked for that title and earned every bit of it. This kid is going places.

One of the best parts about OSG is the people. The friendships I’ve made in this sport, both new & old, the crew I get to see each year, and the welcoming arms from the other side of the world… it’s pretty amazing when a place so far from home feels like home because of who’s there.

Now — the refereeing. I know I’ve got a reputation for being a tough one. But I care deeply about upholding fairness, keeping standards high, and making sure every athlete knows exactly where they stand and earns their reps without question. It’s a role a lot of people have opinions on, and not many are willing to step into. I’m proud of the calls I made and the integrity the whole crew upheld that goes with the job.

Same time next year — whistle ready, resting ref face loaded.

Nashville, Tennessee

The legit home of country music — and yes, I felt right at home the second I landed.

Hattie B’s? KFC, take notes babe… this is how you make chicken worth singing about.

Then… The Grand Ole Opry.
Johnny Cash’s son walks out, opens his mouth, and suddenly you’re hearing the Man in Black himself. I was one emotional twang away from crying into my boots. A real “pinch me” moment — dream officially achieved.

Johnny Cash Museum? Cool as hell.
Lyrics hand-written by Cash himself, the guitars, the boots. Makes you fall harder for the legend behind the sound.

And the honky tonks…
The vibes, the bands, the bars — Australia needs this energy immediately.
Half the strip is owned by country royalty — Garth Brooks, Morgan Wallen, Kid Rock, Lainey Wilson… casual as.
Boot-scootin’, two-steppin’, whiskey-sippin’ chaos in the best possible way.
Only complaint? Bars close at 2am?! Nashville, sweetie, don’t tease me like that.

We even stayed in the cutest Dolly Parton–inspired Airbnb — neon lights, country shower curtain, and little Dolly touches everywhere. Pure pink, sparkly happiness. It made our Nashville stay feel extra country and a whole lot of fun.

City review: clean, liveable, and not overrun by chaos — like a big ol’ country town that just happens to have ridiculous talent on every corner.

But the live music… NEXT LEVEL.
These artists are up there absolutely shredding — waiting for someone to discover them. Honest truth? Half of them could out-sing today’s superstars without breaking a sweat.

Nashville, you were a vibe. A yeehaw. A city full of dreamers making damn good noise — and it’s impossible not to fall in love with every bit of it.

In Dolly we trust. 🫶✨🤠
