My son will be “dangerous” because he’ll be taught to get strong on purpose. Not for a mirror. For the day something heavier than his feelings needs moving. Whether a person, a problem, a load. Soft men outsource their safety. My son wont.

My son will be “dangerous” because he’ll be taught to protect what is his and leave what isn’t. His mother, his friends, his name. Not every fight is his. The ones that are, he finishes clean and he doesn’t brag about.

My son will be “dangerous” because he’ll be taught to tell the truth when it costs him. Lying is a short-term tax that compounds. A man who can say “I did that” cannot be blackmailed by his own story.

My son will be “dangerous” because he’ll be taught that fear is information, not a verdict. He can be scared and still walk in. Courage is not the absence of the feeling. It’s the refusal to let the feeling pick the outcome.

My son will be “dangerous” because he’ll be taught that other people’s weakness is not his meal. He doesn’t mock the small, steal from the careless, or punch down to feel tall. Predators are common. Guardians are rare. Rare is dangerous.

My son will be “dangerous” because he’ll be taught that he is responsible for the man he becomes. No teacher, no girlfriend, no algorithm, no bad day gets the pen. He does.

Malcolm will be dangerously peaceful.. because he’ll be taught that his home is quiet on purpose. No screaming as a language. No cold war in the kitchen. If something is wrong, it gets said once, clean, and then it gets handled. Children who grow up in that house do not flinch at a raised hand or a slammed door, because neither is how love arrives. by @justinhowe___

Not operators.
Not influencers.
Just men refusing to be unprepared.

(Looking up to the summit of Mount Monadnock should give perspective of 110lb rucking it under NODS) taken in Mount Monadnock Jaffrey New Hampshire by @justinhowe___

He doesn’t know the whole story. He doesn’t need to. He loves me anyway. That’s not permission to stay the same. That’s the reason not to. My son’s love doesn’t audit my past. It just shows up and that… that’s the part I don’t get to waste. by @justinhowe___

Not teaching. Just showing how hard it is to clear a simple threshold in minimal strides while actually loaded.

Still opening the stride too far, still driving the knee higher than necessary, still letting the weight transfer get ahead of the base. The pack and rifle make every step fight you, and you can see it in the movement. Minimal strides under kit is a lot harder than it looks when you’re not just walking empty. taken in Monadnock Region by @justinhowe___
