POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Watching my mom go from social butterfly to battling Alzheimer’s has been heartbreaking these last few years. Not just for me, but for my wife @jadeangela and my entire family. Having a caretaker in the house seven days a week, for 10 hours a day, is a lot. Your house isn't really your house. And don't get me started on the financial burden. So much credit goes to Jade for being the rock she is, to Huey and Veda being the grandkids my mom was hellbent on being present for, and my mom — for battling depression, grief, and this new reality she never asked for. But now and then, a moment happens that shows the true good in people, and this crazy ass world we live in. This is Abigail. She was my grandma and mom’s caretaker in Virginia. She sat front row at my grandma’s funeral consoling my mom and dealing with her own grief. Abigail is family. We still keep in contact. I hope we always will. Last week, she surprised my mom by coming to visit. Abigail did this because she loves my mom, and one of the last things my grandma ever said to her was, “Please take care of my little girl when I'm gone.” Abigail did that and so much more. To all the great caretakers out there, thank you. Meeting angels on Earth is a blessing. To the healthcare industry, I wish I could say the same. #caretaker #alzheimers #endalz #healthcare #explorepage✨ by @justintinsley

I read mostly political and presidential history, but I also love reading about pop culture every now and again. As a child of the 90s in New York, rap was a consequential part of my upbringing, and the intertwined stories of Biggie, Tupac and Puffy are utterly fascinating and essential if one is to truly understand America. Two of the best biographies I have EVER read are “It Was All a Dream” by the great and kind @justintinsley (we have been honored to have him on the show), and “Only God Can Judge Me” by @jeff_pearlman

I am completing the trifecta by reading the newly-released “Bad Boy for Life” by Rolling Stone correspondent @cheyenneroundtree who has painted an incredible portrait of Puffy. I’m only about a hundred pages in, but Cheyenne’s reporting and character development are top-notch. There are tragedies throughout the story, and some of it is difficult to read because of how Combs treated people, but I can’t recommend this book any more highly.

And by the way, are the names of the books in this picture not absolutely perfect?

The narrative: Jay-Z is struggling to book the Super Bowl halftime show.

The reality: record audiences, Emmy wins, and some of the biggest artists in the world.

Justin Tinsley breaks down why the real question isn't who Hov books next, but whether he'll finally take the Super Bowl stage himself. by @justintinsley

J.R. Smith & Justin Tinsley Give Charles Oakley His Flowers 👏🏾

For years, we’ve seen the headlines and the false narratives. The Fellas wanted to make sure Charles knew how much his impact truly means.

A proud HBCU alum of Virginia Union University, where he became a Hall of Famer, Charles has continued to use his platform to give back and uplift communities in need. His Charles Oakley Foundation has worked to fight hunger and poverty through initiatives like Oak Out Hunger. #ForTheFellas by @justintinsley
