Closed a sweet sweet chapter of our lives yesterday as we officially said goodbye to the Trend! We couldn’t help but feel so excited for the adorable family from Arizona who got it! It was time for someone else to make some good memories with her like we did!
As the new owner drove away, we immediately said we will do it again someday! It was worth it all❤️❤️ by @justrolandwithit

Anyone want an RV?
.
Its true. After 4 unbelievable years, we have decided the next season of our life is here, and it’s time to get this RV to a new family for new memories.
.
It’s sadder than when we sold our house. All the memories!! All the things we have seen and done. She’s amazing. If you ever wanted to RV, consider this one.
.
Badges have been taken down, she’s been all cleaned up, and ready for you! Link in my Instagram bio.

A little over three years ago we had a wild idea to buy an RV and see our country. It seemed crazy at the time. I had never even really camped before, and most definitely had never seen the inside of an RV. It would mean a lot would change about our lifestyle, and we had NO idea what we were about to do.
————————————
So, the four of us, and our little dog, Chloe, set out to see the United States. We quickly learned that our goal would change. Once we reached Acadia National Park in Maine, we realized that the National Parks would be a driving force for our travels. We had no idea what a National Park was (until then). At the time, there were 59. (Now there are 63- most recent one added in December). These lands are set aside for a reason. They are beautiful, unique, and have so much history. Our National Park system houses over 400 parks/monuments/lands... but the term “National Park” seems to be reserved for the grand daddys of them all.
—————————————-
Knowing we couldn’t drive to all of them, and some of them were out of our reach due to weather, we made it a goal to get in as many as we could. If we had to fly or boat, we just decided we would add it to the “someday” list.
—————————————
Last week, we made it to our final park. It was a little emotional, as we realized the goal we set 3 years ago was finally being fulfilled. The Everglades National Park gave us our 46th national park badge. All in all we saw over 57 National sites. We woke up, that morning, and reminisced about everything we have seen in the last years. All of our journeys, our memories, or experiences. The vast beauty of this country. It is and was overwhelming to think on. The sad part was that we didn’t finish with our little beloved pup, Chloe, as she sadly passed away last February. She got to see so much, and we love to think she lived her best years in the RV. But as we sat out to step into the Everglades, our last”official” park, I looked at the calendar... and realized it was what would have been Chloe’s 15th birthday. Seems like she was there with us in spirit❤️ taken in Everglades National Park by @justrolandwithit

Of all of our travel goals, one was to make it to all the farthest points drivable in the US. Up until this week, our sweet little Winnebago had driven us to the coast of Maine, the coast of Alaska, and Southern California. She made her finale this week when she drove us over 7 mile bridge, all the way to Key West, Florida. It feels good to accomplish goals, no matter how silly they may seem. The sunshine and sand did wonders for our spirits last week. And we got to see the southernmost place in the United States. We were closer to Cuba than Miami. The girls are already making plans to live here when they grow up, so I guess we’ll be back! taken in Key West, Florida by @justrolandwithit

Stop number two on our journey was a peaceful corner of Florida, just south of Miami. Biscayne National Park is the largest marine park in our National Park system. 95% is underwater. This park protects the bay, reefs, mangrove trees, keys and undersea life in Biscayne Bay. It also houses over 50 shipwrecks! It’s a scuba diver’s dream. This park was so peaceful, we could have sat there all day. It once again reminded us why our country is so beautiful, and worth preserving. taken in Biscayne National Park by @justrolandwithit

Set out this week to finish up a list of National Parks that we set 3 1/2 years ago.
First Stop: Congaree National Park, in South Carolina.
It was flood season, so most of the park was flooded, which totally added to the experience. You can walk the boardwalk over the swamp. It’s a small park, and we are glad to have added it to the list! by @justrolandwithit

Our love for caves started back a few years ago at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. That panic inducing entry has been a great marker in our journey for being able to do hard things!
———————————
Mammoth Cave National Park has an impressive entry as well. It’s the longest cave system in the world, with some unique history.
———————————-
Because of Covid, there are only limited tours right now. We can’t wait to go back sometime and take the tour to the underground river!

We made a great pit stop in Cleveland and got to stop by the house from the movie, A Christmas Story! One of my all time favorite Christmas movies...although I was totally scared of the mean Santa when I was a kid. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fun fact, you can actually stay in this house, and next door is the Bumpus house, and you can stay there too! #youllshootyoureyeout taken in House From A Christmas Story by @justrolandwithit

It was a hot day, and it was a hard hike! Cuyahoga Valley NP, in Ohio definitely challenged us.

Infact, this hike had so much elevation change in a short time, that we had to stop multiple times to catch our breath. During one of those times, a ranger came running by asking if we had seen someone who was injured. A short hike up from us, we then passed a man who was struggling in some way to continue his hike. We don’t know if he had a heat stroke, or a heart attack, or was Infact injured in some way, but he wasn’t looking good.
We stopped and prayed for him because that’s all we knew to do. We have no idea what happened after that...we heard the ambulance come by. Hopefully he is making a nice recovery❤️🙏🏻

Ohio sure did treat us well. The park was surrounded by quaint, beautiful towns, and the people were so so friendly. If the rest of the state is like what we saw, it’s a winner! taken in Cuyahoga Valley National Park by @justrolandwithit

We’ve had some weird National Park sign photos, but I’m pretty sure a pillow of our deceased dog, and a cage of hermit crabs might take the cake🤣. I think someone even mentioned we needed leashes for the crabs (Waffle and Tybee). We’re desperate, we need another dog stat!

Besides that silliness, Shenandoah NP was beautiful. So grateful that our parks are open with Covid restrictions. It sure felt good to be back in nature.

It’s been a long time.....
So much has changed in our collective world and our personal world, and things are just unsure.
So, we decided to do what we seem to know best, and hit the road again. This time without our beloved Chloe, who passed away a few months ago. It will be the first National Park pictures we will take in 3 years without her, and our hearts will forever have a hole from the joy she brought us.
But, we have her pillow, and will carry it with us.
We also have our masks and our hand sanitizer and all the other uncertainty that comes with Covid....but it feels really good to be back!
And what better way to social distance than an RV! by @justrolandwithit
