Autumn is arriving and Architecture is on the agenda! Join us for the unveiling of two extraordinary new installations, 𝘛𝘈𝘌𝘓𝘖𝘕7: 𝘓𝘪𝘮𝘣𝘰 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘸𝘢 and 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦: 𝘈 𝘋𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘖𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘪, at Art Omi's 𝔽𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝔸𝕣𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕖 𝕆𝕡𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 on Saturday, September 19, from 2–5 PM.

The two newly commissioned pieces will debut consecutively in the vast fields of the Sculpture & Architecture Park with three musical performances, including music from Grammy Award–winning artists, presented inside A Dome with Four Oculi.

𝙏𝘼𝙀𝙇𝙊𝙉7: 𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙤 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙬𝙖
Limbo Engawa marks the Hudson Valley debut of a cross-continental commission between Art Omi and Accra's 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 (@limbomuseum). Designed by architect 𝗝𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻-𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 of 𝗧𝗔𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗡𝟳 (@Taelon7_), the project was first presented at Limbo Museum in Accra, Ghana, this past March, where it was installed on the museum's unfinished concrete structure. For its Art Omi presentation, the installation has been reconfigured as a freestanding landscape pavilion, reimagined in response to the meadowlands, wetlands, and woods of the Hudson Valley.

𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙡 𝙈𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚: 𝘼 𝘿𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙊𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙞
A Dome with Four Oculi brings the architecture studio 𝗠𝗢𝗦 (@mmmosarchitects) to Art Omi with an aluminum-shingled dome — part shrunken Pantheon, part misplaced silo top — built as a place to sit, gather, and look outward across the park.

The opening will be celebrated with a concert exploring the acoustic space of A Dome with Four Oculi, starting at 3 PM:

👷‍♀️LET’S BUILD TOGETHER 👷‍♀️ // Come through to the Opening Celebration of Staging Area: A Barn Raising in Two Parts (Part Two) from 10 AM–4 PM on Saturday, July 26! All are invited to witness a community barn raising in Art Omi’s Sculpture & Architecture Park.

This collaborative event—presented in partnership with Build Hudson (@build.hudson)—invites the public to take part in the hands-on construction of a new barn structure, designed by Erin Besler (@beslerandsons).

Outcasts From the Underground (2024)

On July 6th 2024 from 3pm onward at @art_omi , let’s celebrate the opening of Outcasts From the Underground. This project was made possible by @jvandenhout from Art Omi, designed by @0super from @_bureauspectacular, fabricated and assembled by Patrick Daly from Keeler Concrete, and engineered by @melnyk_matthew from @nousla. When we first presented this model to Matthew, he asked us to “live a little”. We did, Matthew. We lived a little. At Bureau Spectacular, @zaneabuhamdan, @peipeiwu02, @fu______________n, @bryanlee.design @negin.sabouhi @y2k.png each contributed, key efforts by @men_yushan and most critically @gilphg for bringing this project to life.

This project is a stack of industry-standard septic tanks, catch basins, dry wells, basement staircases, frost posts, and other ready-made precast concrete products born to be buried underground. This project, alongside its other siblings from Bureau Spectacular, is a monster.

Please come and enjoy this moment together. Officially 5pm-8pm, let’s celebrate.
