A big thank you…

Nearly six months ago I took a leap and bet on myself. I bet that the outdoor industry is as strong as ever, and there’s room to make a good and fulfilling career of it in various ways.

The @longrunlabs collective is rolling along, helping to professionalize 20 podcasts in the running space with strong brand partnerships. We’ve done deals with brands like @tailwindnutrition, @boulderthon, @trainingpeaks, @amazfit.us and more. It has been really fun to use my brand partnership and sales skills to help other hosts and creators that we all love!

Through my own brand partnerships with @forthelrpod, I’ve been able to partner with many brands I use and love, and that’s only possible thanks to all of your support for and with those brands. I thought it’d be helpful to share who those brands are, and the discounts available to y’all that make it all possible:

👟: @pumarunning, go to your local run store!
👕: @runjanji, 10% off with FTLR
😎: @tifosioptics, 20% off with FTLR2026
🎧: @shokzusa, 10% off with FTLR
⌚️: @amazfit.us, 10% off with FTLR
⛽️: @tailwindnutrition, 20% off with FTLR20 and @skratchlabs, 20% off with FTLRPOD
🏃: @boulderthon, 10% off in 2026 with FTLR2026
💪: @joineternal, now offering PCP coverage in NY/CA!
🏔️: @visitleadville, where it’s always a great time to visit
🚙: @emichvwofboulder, EV or not, they’ll take care of you in Boulder!

I only partner with brands that I think you’ll love too, and I’m proud of this support! by @jwlevitt

What a day for @boulderthon!

This race continues to impress. A deeper pro field + tens of thousands of amateurs all running along a challenging but beautiful course.

Very fun morning on the @rivianofficial with @lawrence_char and then hanging with the @lululemon crew at the post race VIP area. Highly recommend for next year!! I’ve partnered with @boulderthon for three years now and we’ll certainly be running it back with @forthelrpod bigger and better next year too!

Most comfortable with a mic in my hand and curiosity on my mind

Grateful to share the stage today with @stefanieannflippin, hosted by @lululemon for @boulderthon today talking all about running through different seasons of life. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and insights, stef!! Have fun out there in the 10k tomorrow!

What happens when running becomes less about the numbers and more about finding the edge of what’s possible?

Victor Zetouine is an ultrarunner, entrepreneur, and founder of Party Place who has taken on some wildly ambitious endurance challenges, including running The Speed Project solo from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and racing hundreds of miles across Chile’s Atacama Desert.

Victor joins Jon to talk about going from barely running half a mile to chasing huge endurance adventures, why a stress fracture ultimately led him to ditch his watch, and how losing a close friend changed the direction of his running. They dig into what Victor finds when he’s completely alone in the desert, why the hardest adventures can make the rest of life feel more meaningful, and the difference between goals that scare you and goals that paralyze you.

They also explore the overlap between ultrarunning and entrepreneurship, why perseverance often matters more than talent, breaking enormous goals into the next manageable step, and why Victor believes that every time you think you’ve found your limit, there’s still more to discover.

A running store can be a place that sells shoes. Or it can be the thing that holds a running community together.

@sfrunco is now a @longrunlabs partner, and the part I care about has almost nothing to do with the podcast.

My good friend @vivekgowri took over the shop and has been building it around the runners who make the Bay Area run scene special: the community, events, and advice from people who are doing the damn thing too.

Look at how they’re doing events 👇

💰 A women’s prize purse worth racing for
👶 Childcare grants so parents can get to the start line
🤝 Deferrals that treat runners like people when life happens
🏕️ Showing up for the community before, during, and after race day, not just for 3 hours on a Saturday
🏃‍♀️ A focus on representation and helping *everyone* feel comfortable getting out there and seeing themselves on the starting line

That’s what a store can be when someone actually cares how it feels to run in this sport.

Next one up: the Women’s Trail Half Marathon in the Marin Headlands on October 24.

And if you’re on the industry side: brands with something unique that isn’t in big box retail should talk to SFRC about wholesale, West Coast event partners should look at their calendar, and podcasters should get Vivek on the mic. He’ll tell you exactly why he’s building it this way.

In the meantime, you’ll be hearing more from him on @longrunlabs soon! He’s become a regular on that + @forthelrpod and will continue to be.

SFRun.co also has an online shopping experience that we’ll be working on improving too. Check it out!

TLDR: I wanna do cool shit with my friends. Stoked on this. Grateful people like Vivek exist. The running community is and will continue to be better because of people like him.

Dan Lampard is Chief Commercial and Operating Officer at Science in Sport (SiS), where his background in finance meets a lifelong interest in sport and performance.

Recorded at SiS headquarters in Blackburn, England, Dan shares how he thinks about building a sports nutrition brand in a rapidly growing endurance market.

They dig into why SiS wants to be just as good at telling athletes when they don’t need a gel as when they do, why education and trust matter more than simply chasing conversions, and how the company decides which athletes, experts, retailers, and markets are actually worth investing in.

Dan also talks about the rise of the multi-sport athlete, what brands can learn from training and high-performance sport, balancing financial realities with long-term brand building, expanding in the U.S. and Japan, and why a growing market doesn’t have to mean treating every other brand as the enemy.

They finish with AI, the future of personalized sports nutrition, and why technology may make human connection and real-world communities even more valuable.
