For National Book Month, we're spotlighting Louise Barnett '12 MBA, author and mental health advocate, on the release of her new book, Tainted Love: A Bipolar Memoir.

Since earning her MBA from JWU, Louise has built a career spanning corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, coaching, podcasting and now authorship and mental health advocacy.

Part love story and part memoir, Tainted Love chronicles 15 years of living with undiagnosed Bipolar I disorder and its impact on relationships, addiction, identity, motherhood and recovery.

Diagnosed in 2015 after years of misdiagnosis, Louise has been sober since 2021 and now serves as a Jay Shetty-certified life coach, host of the I'm Bipolar. Now What? podcast, and advocate for a community of more than 100,000 people.

Already reaching #2 in the Bipolar Disorder New Releases category ahead of publication, her work and story have also been featured by major media outlets nationwide.

Today, Johnson & Wales University joins communities across the country in recognizing Indigenous Peoples’ Day — a time to honor the histories, cultures and enduring contributions of Indigenous peoples.

Through reflection, education and continued learning, we recognize the importance of Indigenous voices and perspectives and the ways they continue to enrich our communities and shape our shared future.

JWU campuses will be closed in observance of the holiday and will reopen Tuesday, October 13. A grassy campus scene with fallen autumn leaves in focus. Two individuals sit in the blurred background using laptops, with trees and buildings visible behind them. by @jwualumni

What does the future of food look like? Let's start with the people shaping it.

Meet Dan Kish, keynote speaker at this year’s FIT Symposium.

For more than 40 years, Dan has helped move the food industry forward — from leading culinary innovation at Panera Bread to advising emerging and established food brands.

This November, he brings that experience to JWU Providence for a conversation about where the food industry is headed, what’s changing and what comes next.

Alumni support helps make Wildcat Week a success. 🐾

Meet Moana Reid '21, a proud JWU alumna who continues to make an impact on and off the court as head coach of the JWU Charlotte Women's Volleyball team. This Wildcat Week, her team is off to a strong start in reaching its fundraising goals, demonstrating the power of the Wildcat community coming together to support student-athletes. 🏐

Moana credits JWU for helping her grow both personally and professionally, opening doors to valuable opportunities and building a network that continues to support her today.

"Being able to come back and lead the program I was once a part of has been a full-circle moment. I love pouring back into students the same way coaches, professors and administrators poured into me. I know how impactful that support can be, and I hope I'm able to be that person for some of my student-athletes."

Join the momentum this Wildcat Week! Help your team reach its fundraising goals, support today's student-athletes and make a lasting impact.

Alumni, families and friends can support JWU Athletics and the student-athletes on both our Providence and Charlotte campuses throughout the year but now is your chance to give your favorite team a head start.

For our athletes, sports are so much more than a game. It’s where they grow, find their people and have a whole lot of fun. Every gift helps. Give here: give.gofundme.com/JWUWildcats 🐾 by @jwualumni
