Creating the “Women EmPOWERment” mural has been one of the most transformative experiences for me as a designer.

The installation of this 2 story wheatpaste mural took place in June at @centraltorontoacademy. The impact of the mural could already be seen from the installation day with the student community connecting over the piece, and people in the neighbourhood stopping by to admire and ask questions about it. I am proud to have graduated from a school that highlights the representation of BIPOC women in large-scale projects such as this one.

This initiative has aligned beautifully with my passion for bringing inclusivity and representation into the work that I do. From the initial photoshoot with the Black Student Alliance, and Artivism Inclusivity Movement students, to the collaborative final design, this mural truly embodies community.

Onitsuka Tiger x Ginza Natsuno Mock Shoebox Collab. Design done in GCM 824 (Digital Package Prototyping) using Procreate and Illustrator.

We developed a glueless dielines using tab and slot systems from scratch, prepared files for output on the Roland wide format printer (vinyl), heat pressed the vinyl onto the substrate, cut using the Konsberg, and assembled the box. by @jyotiddesigns

This piece was designed as the midterm project for Design Studio 1 while on exchange at Sungkyunkwan University in Korea.

We were tasked with choosing a song, researching the lyrics and artist, brainstorming and then combining all of these steps to visualize the song with our own concept. I chose to visualize the song Crooked Smile by J. Cole and TLC, and focused on themes of defiance, empowerment, healing, and justice. taken in Sungkyunkwan University by @jyotiddesigns

For my final project in my Design Workshop class while on exchange, we were tasked with designing print media using Adobe indesign. I came up with Balanced Bites, a visual guidebook that explores intentional eating through the lenses of habit, culture, and nutrition. Its purpose is to make everyday food choices more mindful, inclusive, and rooted in both science and ancestral wisdom.
