Friday news drop! I am really thrilled to finally share some life news with you all. Surprise, I’m a lesbian! 🏳️‍🌈

I certainly didn’t expect to be coming out at the age of forty. The queer community is an incredible place where all are truly welcome, no matter who you are or how you love. I’ve learned so much from the new friends I’ve made and could not imagine my life without you all.

I’m endlessly grateful for the unwavering love of my family and friends during this transitional period. My biggest thank you goes to Mike, whose support has been invaluable as we navigate raising our wonderful son as coparents and friends. Extra special shout out to @mazzys_bar and my friends there - you kept me going through a truly wild year.

It wouldn’t be one of my long posts without a LOTR quote and this one feels particularly appropriate. 🍃

If we’ve ever discussed food, you’ve probably heard me wax on about sandwiches. The perfect portable food! So many options across different cultures! Truly one of my favorite ways to eat a meal.

I called @appostosandwichshop yesterday to ask about gluten-free options and almost dropped the phone when I heard they had both GF focaccia AND chicken cutlet. I drove over immediately.

It was so good. So good!! Possibly one of the best GF sandwiches I have ever had in my life. The staff was so lovely, and after we started chitchatting, they mentioned that they make fresh mozzarella in-house every day AND gave us samples. I can’t wait to go back and have that mozzarella on a sandwich. As always, shout out to @shop__milky and @fodzyme for allowing me to eat again.

June was a month filled with joy. 🏳️‍🌈❤️ I’m not really sure how to put into words how freeing it feels to be able to just openly live my life. I’ve been officially out for over a month and this feeling will be a warm ember in my heart for a very long time. 🔥

I feel like I’ve posted so much already because I’ve been running the @pelhampride handle, but I had to do one last post to wrap up this beautiful month. It’s been a great honor to once again take such an active role in Pelham Pride events this year. I’m so thankful for our incredible community!

On a personal side, I have a month full of wonderful memories with my wonderful friends celebrating all sorts of wonderful things. I am so lucky to have found my little @mazzys_bar community during such a pivotal time in my life. Let’s do it all again next year!!! 🏳️‍🌈

Attending the @nycdykemarch was a life-changing experience and I’m endlessly grateful to @continuants & @juliamieko for their friendship as they shepherd me through this new chapter. 🫡
