🔥 A Real Life Phoenix
⭕️ The Best Is Yet To Come
🔧 Learning Fire Sculpture & Flame Effects

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I thought fire dancing was pretty good but let’s be serious: shooting flames from a two story Axolotl is a whole other level of fire!

Really loved this year’s burn. My campmates said that I have excellent timing for playing the fire board & already invited me back next year. Really loved everyone on the crew too. Did I just make 80 new best friends? For my birthday they decided that I’m rock star death age which is hilarious because at 27 I felt (and probably also acted) much older then than I am now

The best is yet to come indeed. Thank you @axolotlearthguardian for showing me that I am very fuego ❤️‍🔥

Save the date 7/25 🔥 4-10pm

We’re throwing an upscale afternoon/early evening pool party with CA sober vibes at an estate in Westlake with TX hill country views at eye level with the red blinky radio towers. Slide on through for a sneak peak of our landscape! Sound on to hear a snippet of @dirtytexans who will also be out at the burn this year

Music lineup:
4-6pm warm up set with DJ Rattlesnake
6-8pm music by the pool with Dirty Texans
8-10pm early evening wind down with Bobby Wasabi

Featuring:
Sunset Fire Performances
Nice Ice with Miss Kitty D.Vine
Duke Furlong on the Grill
Festival Fashion Vendors
Silent Auction

I wasn’t planning on getting a chance to be in the Man Burn ceremony again but @carlaxofficial invited me to join all the real deal Cirque du Soleil badasses of our city in the Great Circle this year. How do you say no to shooting flames from @axolotlearthguardian & also getting to participate in igniting the best fireworks show on the planet?

Hope to see you there!

Our book became a #1 bestseller in 3 categories overnight!

Luminaries is a collection of essays on leadership captained by @sulitpressbooks and written by @sparklecreative @lasandraspeaks @sabrinagesto @dedehalfhill @carrie_quintanilla @mod_ops_consulting @mollymaepotter and several others who can be found on LinkedIn vs the gram. Save the date 8/6 for a book launch party at the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Mansion in Austin

The print version went live today on Amazon & there’s a link in my bio to purchase a hard copy or a digital download. Proceeds from book sales benefit @louderthansilenceorg

Also, I haven’t taken off my subway token since the Knicks made the playoffs. The Power of Friendship is a real superpower! I would not have recovered from my accident so successfully or been brave enough to tackle anything related to community building or storytelling since without everyone who supported and cheered me on along the way 💥

Today is @creativemorning Release Day & I promised last month when I gave my Ember talk at @cm_austin to follow up and share what I’ve been learning about flame effects

Over Memorial Day weekend I went to Boosh School™️ with @axolotlearthguardian. We worked on Chuy who is based on a beautiful blue bus from the Burn Pit in Empire and went out to the playa for some beautiful sunsets while no one else was around. Surreal! Like what I imagine it’s like to be on the surface of the moon

The fire effects live on the rooftop of the bus. We added two new propane tanks and fixed all seven igniters. Plus took care of a whole bunch of cleaning, storage, inventory, wiring, bike repair, etc to keep camp running smoothly when the whole group travels to NV to build out the Art Car at @burningman in August. There’s even a mini Axolitl vehicle to follow the Axolotl around. It’s hard to tell in that selfie I snapped bc of the lighting but the Axolitl and I both have green eyes 💚

Thanks for all the photos @snklopp @cm_austin & for the lovely live art @amirocks73. Loved catching up with my musical friends @czappler @dub.equis this morning and hearing about what everyone else in the community is working on

Can’t wait to make bigger fire with the Axos later this summer and to build my fire instrument prototype this fall! Rome wasn’t built in a day but by this time next year I’ll have something gallery-ready for everyone to try 🔥 #releaseday2026 #creativemornings taken in My Imagination by @k8fuego

I read the Phish article in GQ last year and Mr. Mike Gordon’s words have lived in my head ever since. Phish has always filled my tank with inspiration and wonder for everything in my regular life! It took 30 years (1st show MSG 12/30/95) but if you get together a handful of times a year with your best friends to appreciate art it’s just math

Last Friday I spoke to an audience about rising like a phoenix after my fire accident for the 1st time & then sent it to the Sphere on Saturday to see Phish for the 200th time. Music and friends, it’s the reason I’m alive and thriving today 🙏

Per usual I did not take enough photos but I have:
1. An informational “I’m over Sphere!” selfie from the Venetian land bridge
2. View from my window @jenstark
3. Moma
4. The Well
5. Ghost
6. A blurry selfie with an instant classic but the point is my little 👻 stickers worked
7. Phish is a pretty pretty pretty good band
8. A wook postcard from Oz after the Disco Biscuits
9. GQ article
10. Friday on stage at Creative Mornings @cm_austin

Thank you @phish for everything over the years & thank you @phoenixsociety for setting me up with a peer mentor while preparing for my talk @creativemorning ❤️‍🔥 taken in Sphere by @k8fuego

2. Aforementioned normie LinkedIn pic @bordeauphoto
3. And a badass fire photo from @bordeauphoto
4. Step into the @purplebeetv Groove Lab

Lately the definitive burn phrase has been hitting on all cylinders: Welcome Home

This is the energy I’m carrying from the winter solstice into 2026 and beyond. Let’s all have a nice life this year. Say yes to the concerts. Decorate all the trees. It’s always High Noon somewhere! 🦆 by @k8fuego

Still shaking out the dust this fall truth be told. It was an enormous deal for me to agree to captain a fire troupe again after burning 11% of my body in an accident last year & I will always be proud that we raised the dance squad’s expenses to attend Burning Man with an additional $10K for TX flood relief with our fundraiser

With that said, F your burn is the phrase out there for reasons. After months of preparation I gave up all the things I thought I was going to do out there & came home with a tetanus shot and without my notebook. As they say, the trick was to surrender to the flow and I left the desert inspired to take my art in a new direction. The best is yet to come & if I can rise again after quite literally burning in a fire you can do it too

We did it! Phoenix Starship earned back our prop fabrication materials, fuel budget, artist passes & donated $10K with our partners to TX flood relief efforts

None of this would be possible if I didn’t have my family, friends & music/dance community to lift me up since my accident. It was so good seeing so many of you over the last few weeks. I am the Phoenix & this is my rebirth

We’re going to light things up one more time in a Savage Garden before heading to the desert. Join us this Fri 8/8 for a walk through the Lion’s Gate Portal at The Oven ATX

Link in bio for info 🦁 our friends @shadowsweat @scottcparks @the_original_snugg @djladyvitamins @vibecitymarkets will be joining us ❤️‍🔥 and we are even bringing back the booshketball court @dj_night_lee 🏀
