I love this book so much . People you thought I loved Vagabonds! and could kill for it , well I can unalive , bury redirect and kill again for Necessary fiction. I took deep breaths after reading this book and then I cried. This right here is proof that everything is possible. That we are God. The language blew me away and I could give my life to take a tour in Eloghosa’s mind.

This story is about resilience. It’s about the small, sacred worlds we create to live as our whole selves. It’s about chosen family, the people we gather and love with intention and care. The love in this book is deliberate, tender, and whole.
It’s a world where we set the rules and invent jobs based on need. Necessary Fiction is built on love. All kinds of love. This book shows us that you’ll also find fear everywhere you see love. While some people let fear consume love, others are brave enough to love despite the fear. Loudly. Deeply. Intentionally. Afraid and still loving.
The final chapters say it all. Maro and Jekwu’s wedding vows? They’re the blueprint—the kind of love and devotion we all deserve to sit in.
I promise you that you have never ever ever ever in your entire life and the next come across a storytelling like this. This is ART right here and belongs in museums because what! This book gives you language to live by. It is scripture. Sacred. A guide. The kind of book you never stop reading. The kind that reads you back.

Toxic traits as a bookstagrammer/reader

✨I don’t mind spoilers , in fact I actively look for spoilers. It doesn’t change my reading experience .

✨I’m a critical reader - some days I just want to read for fun but who am I ? I’m always so critical

✨When people rate a book low , it’s enough motivation for me to go and read the book because often the lower the review, it is when I decide I’d like it.

✨I have read Vagabonds! by Elogosa for more than 20 times and I promise you every read is a different experience. I recommend it

✨You made a fool of death with your beauty is my next most reread book

✨I reread books a lot. A lot and I still find time to read new ones. I reread classics, any book I have enjoyed reading. I’m just a rereader.

✨ I’m very much invested in characters in books. I feel entitled to them as the authors so I live in them too and when they mess up I want to slap them too.

✨I have to read books before I buy them. That’s to say I make sure I buy books only if I have read it to confirm if it’s worth keeping on my shelf unless it’s an auto buy

✨I collect books more than I read them😂. Collecting revolutionaries is my favorite thing to do.

✨ I’m a mad reader . I lack patience. Representation matters so much to me that when an author messes up I tear at their skin limb to limb.

✨sometimes I worry that I’m creating more content than I’m reading because why am I spending hours fretting on what to post instead of getting to know my characters.

✨I don’t know how to do this bookstagram thing ooooo. I’m just winging it so you people should teach me if there is a hack.

✨I don’t care and that’s my major problem. Like I don’t care I’m just posting , reading and talking my mind. You people should come to my house and beat me 😂

✨I want to connect with all readers and I love you too. I have a soft spot for readers and bookstagrammers and that would be the end of me

And the mountains echoed is not your regular Khaled Hosseini story but also what is really a regular Khalid Hosseini story. This isn’t as heart wrenching but it’s sad, also chaotic. Every character here was given a plot, a story. From Kabul to France to New York to everywhere. There isn’t one story here, there are many stories with many characters in the book. It takes a bit of time to get into but stay on the story. Starts out with the story of two siblings being separated in the most gruesome way and when they finally reconnect as old and frail people one person couldn’t remember even their own name. It’s not the only heart wrenching story. There were others , like the girl whose parents were killed right before her by her uncle because of a house willed to her father , the uncle went ahead and killed her two other siblings and she merely escaped not without being butchered. There were also other stories, many other sad ones.
I do recommend it as a good read. Like I said it’s not easy to get into but stay with the story. You can also easily get confused because of the many characters and the stories but stay on track.
