Met die boodschap op de gevels van Vlaamse cultuurhuizen, roepen we de Belgische regering op tot een veel daadkrachtiger beleid tegen de flagrante schending van de mensenrechten door Israël in Gaza en op de Westelijke Jordaanoever.

Daarnaast mobiliseren we de komende dagen actief om op 15 juni mee te stappen in de protestactie georganiseerd door 11.11.11.

We roepen de Belgische regering op om werk te maken van een onmiddellijk staakt-het-vuren en de terugtrekking van Israël uit de illegaal bezette gebieden, om massaal humanitaire hulp mogelijk te maken voor Gaza, om de financiële steun voor UNWRA te vrijwaren, om nationaal en Europees economische sancties af te kondigen tegen Israël, om het EU-associatieakkoord met Israël op te schorten, om niet langer producten te importeren uit de bezette gebieden, om oorlogsmisdadigers te laten berechten voor het Internationaal Strafhof en om de Palestijnse Staat te erkennen.

Aan de Vlaamse minister van cultuur vragen wij om de culturele sector te steunen in dit standpunt en om de sector te verdedigen op het internationale forum als zij gesanctioneerd (gecanceld) wordt vanwege dit standpunt.

𝗡𝗟 | Twee lichamen bewegen zich in hun duet doorheen toestanden van actieve en passieve rust. In de voorstelling spelen ze met de notie van de Onzichtbare Lapdance, die bestaat uit kleine, bijna onwaarneembare vormen van dans die de blik tussen gever en ontvanger steeds weer vertroebelen. Het comfort van ontspanning ontpopt zich als een actief statement van vrouwelijkheid. ⁠

𝗙𝗥 | Deux corps évoluent en duo, alternant des phases de repos actif et passif. Au fil du spectacle, elles jouent avec la notion de « lap dance invisible », soit de petites formes de danse presque imperceptibles qui brouillent sans cesse le regard entre la personne qui donne et celle qui reçoit. Le bien-être que procure la détente se transforme en une affirmation active de la féminité. ⁠

𝗘𝗡 | Two bodies move in a duet through states of active and passive rest. In the performance, they play with the notion of the Invisible Lapdance, which consists of small, almost imperceptible forms of dance that repeatedly blur the gaze between giver and receiver. The comfort of relaxation emerges as an active statement of femininity. ⁠

Emma Holten komt naar Ecopolis!

Op Ecopolis 2026 verwelkomen we de Deense auteur en activiste Emma Holten. Ze schreef de bestseller 'Tekort: Hoe een feministische economie ons leven rijker kan maken'. Daarin legt ze bloot hoe economische denkers zorg en onbetaald werk eeuwenlang uit het waardekader hebben gehouden. De gevolgen van die blinde vlek laten zich tot vandaag voelen in politieke en economische beslissingen.

Holten trekt een lijn van de onderwaardering van zorg naar de uitputting van mens en planeet. Ze pleit voor een economie die niet alleen kijkt naar wat geld oplevert, maar ook naar wat ons welzijn en onze samenleving werkelijk draagt.

Op Ecopolis gaat Emma Holten in gesprek over een economie waarin menselijk én ecologisch welzijn centraal staan.

At Ecopolis 2026, we’ll be welcoming Danish author and activist Emma Holten. She wrote the bestseller "Deficit": How Feminist Economy Can Change Our World". In the book, she shows how economic thinkers have excluded care and unpaid labor from the framework of value for centuries. The consequences of that blind spot are still felt today in political and economic decisions.

Holten draws a line from the undervaluation of care to the exploitation of people and the planet. She advocates for an economy that looks not only at what generates profit, but also at what truly contributes to our well-being and our society.

At Ecopolis, Emma Holten will discuss an economy centered on both human and ecological well-being.

FR - Comment dire nos corps lorsqu’on est privé d’une langue ? En arabe, ḥoub signifie « amour » sous toutes ses formes. Sa racine ب ب ح « ḥbb », lie à la graine, au noyau, à ce qui contient la vie. Sur scène, Ḥoub est un dialogue sororal entre la poésie orale de Zaïneb Ḥamdi et la pratique du turntablism/cdjism de Soumaya Phéline Abouda.Puisant des fragments de son recueil « Où mon amour sera ḥoub », Zaïneb Ḥamdi scande ses poèmes qui donnent voix à des urgences communes aux deux artistes : la réappropriation des corps non-blancs, de leurs langues et de leur histoire, la soustraction aux « systèmes des Pères » et le refus de toute essentialisation comme instrument de pouvoir.

Ḥoub déploie cette parole poétique en tableaux, entre confidences et incantations, plongeant le public dans une hybridation artistique et sensorielle. En écho, la musique orchestrée en direct aux platines devient une narration à part entière, déconstruisant et composant des voix, des textures et des samples pour guider le souffle du poème.

NL - In het Arabisch betekent ‘houb’ liefde in al haar vormen. In de voorstelling komt die liefde tot uiting in een zusterlijke dialoog tussen de poëzie van Zaïneb Ḥamdi en de turntablism-praktijk van Soumaya Phéline Abouda. Puttend uit haar dichtbundel Où mon amour sera houb*, geeft Zaïneb uiting aan prangende kwesties die beide kunstenaars aangaan. Met de live georkestreerde muziek van Soumaya ontstaat een artistieke, zintuiglijke kruisbestuiving. Tine Hens komt naar Ecopolis!

Met haar boek Archief van mogelijk verlies won journalist en auteur Tine Hens onlangs de Natuurboekenprijs 2026. In haar boek schrijft ze over planten, dieren en natuurfenomenen die stilaan uit ons leven verdwijnen: van kieviten en spreeuwenzwermen tot sneeuw, stilte en duisternis.

Op Ecopolis 2026 brengt ze het boek samen met componist Ellen Jacobs en muzikant Birsen Uçar tot leven. Jacobs verwerkte de geluiden van verdwijnende natuur in een originele compositie, terwijl Uçar vanuit muziek en ecofilosofie onderzoekt hoe we opnieuw verbinding kunnen maken met de meer-dan-menselijke wereld.

Een verhaal over verlies, verteld in woord en klank.
