Throw back to this summer project. A different color palette than I’m used to! I created many murals throughout the Fairview Pharmacy building, this is one of them! by @kada_creative

I’m walking away from three very full days at the @modebyflickr World’s Photography Festival feeling energized and inspired by an incredible lineup of visual artists, reps, producers, educators, art installations and hundreds of talented creatives walking around downtown Minneapolis making photographs and new friends.

This painting by my friend, @kada_creative, sums up so many themes from the panel discussions, presentations and workshops this weekend. Inspired in part by a portrait my dear friend @mollyhebdaphotography made of me a few years back. Kada’s painting is bold, joyful, and expansive — and like the little bird perched on the photographer’s lens, it’s curious too. Not looking away from the work, I think, but looking back to where it comes from.

As artists, we get hired for the way we see the world. Trusting our vision, leaning into our lived experiences, and empowering others through relationships and trust — that’s the gift we get to give.

Diana Zalucky @dianazalucky put words to it so beautifully. She spoke about viewing our vision as an act of service. To the client, to the story, to whoever is standing in front of our lens, trusting us to notice something true about them.

Stay curious, y’all! by @kada_creative

This is a BIG thank you to the team that worked tirelessly for an entire month and a half to bring this beauty to fruition. Lots of long hours hand painting and stenciling every leaf and branch on a 25’ ceiling. Over 26,000 square feet! We did it! Thank you 🙏🏼 🎨 @erika.soukup @karinlindenh.paintings @wavelinedesign @m4dd4w6 @redtwerp @laramenortice @levijamesdesign @annehenly @seamusliamobrien @michaelalochen @sarathescenic @nora_seifert @carveraudrey @q.powers @kelseycbl Katie, Nat, Moses, Anne, Tuesday, and Signe!!!! by @kada_creative

We had the pleasure of collaborating with @kada_creative on our building mural, and we are so thrilled with how it turned out! Not only is Kada an incredibly talented artist, she is also a delightful human and so easy to work with. We cannot thank her enough for helping us bring energy (and color!) to our neighborhood!

A recent mural I’ve been working on while Minnesota holds together and fights like hell against ice. The idea behind this project is that together we create magic. Together we create strength. Together we are beautiful. by @kada_creative
