POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
You might have noticed that my profile picture has changed and here’s why. Before you read: please share or repost this post to help stop the algorithm from killing its reach. I want to get this in front of as many people as possible this October 🎀

🎀 THINK PINK with me! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this is something that is incredibly close to my heart.

Back in 2009 my mother (who died in 2023) was diagnosed with breast cancer, and over the years I’ve watched friends and people I know experience their mothers and loved ones being diagnosed too.

In the UK, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes, and 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

So this October, I want to use my platform to do something to help.

From now until 31st October, 50% of the profits from every item sold from my Think Pink collection will be donated to @breastcancernow 💗

The collection so far includes prints, notebooks and weekly planners, with your purchases helping to raise money for Breast Cancer Now’s work funding life-saving research and providing support for people affected by breast cancer.

If you’re able to purchase something, thank you. But you can also help otherwise. Please share this post with a friend, repost it to your story or feed, comment and help me get it in front of as many people as possible. The further we can spread this, the more we can hopefully raise throughout October 💓

For my mum, for your mum, for our friends, our families and everyone whose life has been affected by breast cancer.

Let’s Think Pink this October. You can shop the Think Pink collection via the link in my bio 💗

🧁 Trinidadian dancer Kadeem En Pointe leads the cast as The Sugar Plum Fairy. He trained at the Caribbean School of Dancing in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to the UK, and is the creator of Kadeem En Pointe, a platform exploring ballet beyond traditional ideas of gender and who the art form is for.

His work includes the En Pointe In Public series and All The World’s A Stage, his first independently produced stage production, which premiered at London’s Shaw Theatre in August 2026.

❄️ English dancer Evie-Leigh Savage joins the cast as Snow Fairy. She graduated from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in 2025, following her training at London Vocational Ballet School.

🖤 At its heart, Not So Little Dancer is a piece I choreographed to challenge the idea of dancers as merely beautiful, delicate or (dare I say) decorative figures. Instead, it presents dancers as complex human beings whose artistry requires strength, athleticism, intelligence and a constant pursuit of perfection. Through the choreography, I use some of the world’s most famous sculptures to bring these different aspects of a dancer’s artistry to life.

This piece is best viewed on my YouTube channel (same name!) as it was filmed in landscape, and I’d really encourage you to watch it there to experience the full scope of the choreography as I intended.

The first time I filmed this piece in full costume was in Paris in June 2026. I chose Paris because both Claude Debussy, whose music accompanies the choreography, and Edgar Degas, whose Little Dancer inspired the work, were French. It’s also one of my favourite cities in the world!

But I wanted to film it again here in London because this is my home. It’s the city where I’m constantly surrounded by art and where I continue to find inspiration for my own work.

I hope that when you watch this piece and take in the commentary, you’ll see a little more than just a dancer moving to music. I hope you’ll see the strength, the thought and the humanity behind the art ❤️

And don’t forget to watch the full landscape version on my YouTube channel, repost this video and share it with a friend 🧑🏾‍🩰

I realise I clap when I talk... a lot.

🎟️ You don’t need to wait until December to book for my Nutcracker. In fact, booking now is one of the biggest ways you can help make this production a success. I cannot stress enough how much your early bookings mean to me 🥹

As an independent artist, putting on a production of this scale is an enormous financial undertaking, and unlike larger companies, I don’t have the same financial backing.

❤️ Every early booking makes a difference. It helps me cover production costs and plan with a little more financial security to make the show even bigger and better.
🩰 I’m trying to make ballet more accessible. That means keeping ticket prices as affordable as possible, while still delivering a beautiful, professional production.
🌍 You can support from anywhere in the world! The show will be streamed globally on YouTube, with 14 days to catch up - but this is also ticketed so only those with tickets will receive the private link to watch live or catch up and (and you can watch over and over and over again!)

I know December can be an expensive time of year and seems far away - I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has already booked. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, I really hope you’ll consider booking today. Comment DISCOUNT and I’ll send you an exclusive discount as a thank you for booking early!

Thank you for helping me continue to create ballet that welcomes everyone. It genuinely means more than you know ❤️

Ballet has European origins. But does that mean it belongs exclusively to Europeans?

#ballet

It’s worth asking why this cultural dance form was able to travel around the world and eventually be treated as a universal art form.

This is the part that people are scared to talk about.

#ballet

European colonisation suppressed and sometimes destroyed other cultures.

#ballet

Dance traditions absolutely travelled, survived and transformed but many were not given the same institutions, money, theatres, schools and cultural authority as European art forms.

#ballet

The difference was who had the power to decide what counted as art.

Ballet has European origins, but it does not belong exclusively to Europe.

#ballet

When Black dancers put on pointe shoes, they aren’t pretending to be European.

They are participating in an art form that has spent centuries travelling beyond the place it began.

But somehow… we’re still expected to dress our feet as though ballet never travelled.

#ballet

Let that sink in.

#ballet

There is a reason for that. It creates the illusion of an uninterrupted line. Leg → ankle → foot → pointe shoe.

A brown pointe shoe does not make ballet less classical.

I have seen many people in my life struggle to find something that makes them feel the way ballet allows me to feel. But I want my work to inspire people - not necessarily to love ballet - but to love SOMETHING. I hope that this post helps you to understand me a little bit more. Thank you for being here.

Did you know that the stories of classical ballets are told in part through mime? Some gestures are obvious, others you just need to know!

In Giselle’s entrance from the ballet of the same name - most of the movements are clear, but one key movement might be tricky to decipher if you don’t know it. Did you know the ballet mime for ‘dance’ before this video?
