what a beautiful, badass, funny and fiery woman my mom was. It’s been a week since her passing and all of my words still seem to fall short. her laugh is forever ingrained in my memory, her pride and endless love for me and jacklyn will follow us everywhere. she touched the lives of many, was loved by SO many people - that itself feels like an understatement. she endured so much pain throughout her life, yet I was convinced her strong, stubborn self would keep pushing for years to come. she is finally pain-free!

thankful for all the times she pushed thru crowds at my shows, proudly announcing to anyone around her that she was my mom. thankful for all the shows we attended together, all the long walks we took. she is the reason I love taking walks, and have as good sidewalk etiquette as I do. thankful to have her face forever, to have acquired her sarcasm and no-nonsense attitude (though mine will never compare to her’s). I will never watch buffy the same, and she’ll be with me whenever I hear the ramones/foo fighters/velvet underground/sleater-kinney.

I don’t feel she’s gone, she will live on in so many ways. every time I speak my mind, whistle along to a song, use profane language, or keep living life through the rough moments as she always did, I know she’ll be there. so many of you were lucky to know her, and there will never be another Jeannine again. I love you forever mom, you are finally free of this life’s bullshit and pain. ❤️ by @kadethib

thinking of alyx zauderer and our last + first pics together in 2023 / 2017. them not being here feels like a huge crucial piece of later 2010’s boston diy is gone too. one of the kindest people i’d ever met, someone who always made sure i felt included, one of my first real true homies in the boston scene. they were always hyping up whatever art i was creating, and i’m so grateful to have one of their comic art zines with my name handwritten on the first page. truly a one of a kind person. love you forever zaudy by @kadethib
