In Berlin? Stop by for a coffee ☕️ and discover Mirror, alongside works by other artists at @kaffeemitte
as part of the current group exhibition « Rien de perdu » (nothing is lost)

Mirror 🪞 an original piece, painted in acrylic on recycled cardboard ♻️

Inspired by Eduardo Galeano’s words: «  we live in a culture of packing that despises content » 🤔

This piece explores appearance, identity and what lies beneath the image we choose to show the world.

A masked woman, adorned an elaborate style holds a mirror that reveals a more intimate version of herself, stripped of her ornaments. Their eyes meet at the same level, transforming the mirror into more than a reflection: an invitation to look within 👀

In a world where image can overshadow essence, looking in the mirror means embracing all that we are: our strengths, vulnerabilities, qualities and shadows…

Upcycled art - acrylic on recycled cardboard. One of a kind original ✨

Not in Berlin? Mirror is available in my longline shop 🛍️

„Trois Français à Berlin qui font de l’art avec ce que les autres jettent ? Excuse my French — that’s remarkable.“
— Grégoire

RIEN DE PERDU
Group show at Kaffeemitte Berlin
September to November 2026

Three French artists, all three living and working in Berlin. What connects their work is a tradition that has been part of modern art for more than a century: the objet trouvé.

The idea: using found objects as a starting point for art. Marcel Duchamp declared a bicycle wheel and a urinal to be art. The Surrealists around André Breton gave the idea its name. Later, Jacques Villeglé tore posters off the walls of Paris and hung them in galleries. The principle is simple — and in times of upcycling and the urgent need to protect our resources, more timely than ever: the material exists as something found — and the artist gives it a new purpose.

✦ Lucille Guder — „Feelings“
Lucille uses gift wrapping paper with floral motifs, a recurring element in her work, combined with dried flowers from France. For Kaffeemitte, she transforms part of the space into a large-scale installation.

✦ Seboh Creation — „Freedom“, „Mirror“, „To Trust in Life“
Small, precise, colourful drawings with roots in graffiti by street artist Seboh. For his current series, he paints on old cardboard, allowing the traces and imperfections of the material to become part of the work.

✦ Jean Peut-être — „Rien de Perdu“, „Le Fruit de la Patience“, „Grain d’Amour“
Jean collects old forms, papers and documents and prints his words and phrases onto them — often giving old GDR documents a new life. His works can also be found in the streets of Berlin. We’re showing a selection at Kaffeemitte.

A little piece of mine, painted on recycled cardboard, is now part of Objet trouvé, a group exhibition at @kaffeemitte in Berlin, alongside two other artists.

The exhibition brings together works exploring the idea of the found object — and all the pieces I’m showing are painted on recycled cardboard, a raw and ordinary material that I love for the contrast it creates with vivid colours ♻️

There are several other works of mine to discover in the exhibition, so if you’re in Berlin, come by, grab a coffee, and take a look. ☕️

Objet trouvé I Organised in @kaffeemitte & curated by @greg_hu_berlin

Until October 24

Would love for you to see them in person ✨

Can’t make it to Berlin? You can also discover a selection of my recycled cardboard works in my online shop.

Amongst people, that’s where she belongs 🧡

I’ve created this illustration as a tribute to Rosa Luxemburg during winter. Now she’s hanging in @kaffeemitte - a special kiez café, where she can blend with people’s everyday lives and other iconic women.

PAOLO GALLO
Madonnina / Berlin 2016 / Digital Photography
Paolo is originally from Piedmont and studied graphic design in Novara. Before moving to Berlin in 2006, he worked as a theatre lighting technician and cinema projectionist. Since settling in Berlin, he has collaborated on several artistic projects. His artistic practice ranges from photography and video installations to collages made from 35 mm celluloid film, presented in the project Kinofragmente, and Paludaria, a series of self-contained biospheres.
He has been influenced by filmmakers like Chris Cunningham and Michel Gondry—advertising aesthetics that he studied closely as a teenager. But Paolo’s earliest inspiration lies further back: the classical painters. Above all, Caravaggio, because of his mastery of light and shadow—the man who punched a hole in his roof just to get the light exactly the way he wanted it.
These influences become visible in the photograph shown here. The portrait is carefully composed through subtle interventions: a precisely styled hairstyle, a slight turn of the body, and soft studio lighting. The work is part of a triptych inspired by the long tradition of Madonna imagery, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance - one of the most iconic representations of women in art history.
Paolo’s work brings Piedmont and Berlin, classical painting and contemporary visual culture into dialogue, making Madonnina a great addition to the Woman Portrait Gallery.

„NoirNor“ 🎞️ Interview with Alexander Sokolov
Shot on analogue film using expired stock and intentionally “wrong” camera settings. Every frame takes money, focus, and patience — and that’s exactly why Alex prefers working this way.

„It’s not just a photo I like — it’s the time that made it.“

The woman is a friend, a DJ from Ukraine. Shot against the Berlin skyline with the iconic TV tower, she stands for the people who come here to build a new life. Berlin is an expat city. Many come for the freedom — but that freedom needs discipline and friends, or the city sweeps you away.

„I was born in Crimea, grew up in Moscow, and have been living in Berlin for eleven years. New environment, new culture, some trouble along the way. And still — I want to stay. Because I’ve made friends here.“
