We Did It!!! Micro Roaster of the Year 2026
☕️🙏🏼🫶🏼💙

We can hardly believe it. Kafiex Roasters has been named Roast Magazine’s 2026 Micro Roaster of the Year.

This journey started with nothing more than curiosity and a love for coffee. We didn’t even know awards like this existed when we began roasting. What we did know was that we wanted to create something meaningful to build community, to learn, to teach, and to grow through every cup we served.

Over the years, Kafiex has evolved through local markets, long nights, national competitions, and countless shared moments with people who believed in us. To now stand among the roasters we once looked up to it feels surreal, humbling, and deeply personal.

This award isn’t just ours.
It belongs to every coffee producer who trusted us with their harvests, who shared their knowledge and stories from the soil.
It belongs to our local community in Vancouver, WA those who showed up from day one, who believed that something small could grow into something extraordinary. You’ve shown what happens when a town stands behind a dream.
It belongs to our mentors, friends, and family in coffee the ones who guided us, challenged us, and reminded us that excellence means sharing what you know.
And it belongs to our team, who pour their hearts into every roast, every cup, every guest who walks through our doors.

From farm to cup, this victory is collective. It’s proof that passion, integrity, and community still matter and that a small team with a big dream can stand among the best.

To everyone who has been part of our story: thank you. This is just the beginning.

With love and gratitude,
Matthew & Seidy

And here in 10 photos a little bit or a lot of what happened in this 2020... The lab started the year with a large crew ready to conquer ALL... We introduced our food menu & our head roaster headed to the national roasting competition where he showed us that passion and hard work always pays back as he made it to the finals... soon after that 2020 began to change; The Lab closed its doors - something we never thought we were going to have to do... with that our origin trips, competitions, and being able to brew coffee for all of you got canceled... We said goodbye to all of the Kafiex team... and the unknown began, but that didn’t stop us;soon after our coffee subscription, our website and online store launched; with that we were able to keep doing what we love to do; making coffee for you all. Lots of carafes of coffee were donated to our 2020 heroes; all front line workers... A forever dream became true and we began to can our cold brew... few months after we were able to open our doors again and we all learned that 6ft apart didn’t mean to be distant... connection wasn’t canceled and we became #strongertogether ... slowly part of the Kafiex team returned to work and new members joined us in this beautiful coffee journey... staying strong our outdoor space was created and another of our projects, goals & dreams came true... Kafiex 2.0 at the waterfront.... A lot has happened this year; and we are beyond THANKFUL for all your SUPPORT & incessant LOVE!!! 💙🙏🏼☕️ We truly want to wish you all the best in this upcoming 2021... We look forward to keep sourcing, roasting, brewing, shipping and chatting coffee with you ALL!!! We LOVE you!!!!
