It’s crazy to come home each day and watch your dreams take shape.

In between the excitement, and the terror - there is so much joy. Thank you, Mom and Dad. Kendel and Lenny, for your support and your trust.

I cannot wait to welcome you to The Barn; a place for creatives, movers and neighbors.

Grace Jones as Zula, Conan the Destroyer, 1985.
Still unpacking my Xennial childhood obsessions.
Zula (Grace Jones) was the first black women I understood to be powerfully feminist, badass and fierce. I spent a lot of time with a broomstick in my backyard, pretending I was fighting the barbarian hordes. It didn’t hurt that she is Jamaican too.
She’s still who I channel when I need to feel imperiously beautiful and take over a space.
Not to mention that she was a Muse for artists from Harring to Warhol to Janelle Monae. Not just in the ‘80s but today. She was one of the first I thought of when I started this series.

“Zula… What do you do when you see a man that you want?”
“Grab him, and TAKE HIM.”

See you at Piedmont Park!

Our first home-grown tomatoes. 🍅 They aren’t quite ripe, but Mina Lu couldn’t resist. Layo even touched one, so 10/10. #swatsgarden #threelittlebirds #herloomtomatoes #thepeeplesplace #artinthegarden by @kahrinb

The ONE AND ONLY Catwoman.
(I will die on this hill)

I’m making some postmodernist pop art.
A taste nostalgia on this ridiculous timeline.

Come check me at Piedmont this August
And at The Barn @ The Peeples Place this spring (and foreva)
