happy national latino heritage month 😝 things in my apartment that remind me i am mexican.

i think about my childhood and realize how mexican it was — tamales every christmas. pool days with selena and shakira playing in the background. dancing with my cousins at parties that lasted way too long — i just wish i grew up aware. i suppose that’s part of the mixed race experience! it’s good to know that as an adult, i’m continuing to honor my heritage, even if it’s subconscious.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🌱

2025 was truly filled with so much growth. We encountered many challenges this year, but despite all odds, we’ve learned to readjust and explore what it means to continue promoting live music and jazz in our community.

This year, we plan on partnering with @centerfortheartseaglerock (CFAER) to continue our live shows with a regular community music series. Here, we will also begin hosting our jazz education workshops for students in NELA and surrounding neighborhoods, in an effort to promote accessible, affordable, quality jazz education to youth.

The photos are from CFAER’s Holiday Open House concert ❤️ THANK YOU to all the amazing musicians who performed, staff who helped, and community members who attended. We saw so many friends and family in the audience, and we’re so grateful to bring the music back home to Eagle Rock.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We couldn’t be more grateful for you all. Stay tuned for more in the new year 🌱

merry christmas eve with one of my favorite bands! I sometimes like to play bass, and since I don’t have a piano right now, this was a fun transcription to work on :) I finished the whole song but this app will not let me post the full thing (perhaps for the better…)😺

p.s. i need to tune better ~~ bass players do not come for me 🙉 that’s a purchase for 2026 by @kai.laniii
