Misogyny has been slowly meeting its end.

Not through a battle of men vs women, but through a shift in consciousness. A renewal, a revolution towards a more balanced, flow-state-way of being.

This piece has taken me through some interesting schools of thought and some pretty strong emotions. In exploring the experience of being a woman, I found myself also exploring my own relationship with femininity, power, vulnerability and identity🙏🏽✨. And somewhere in that process, I started understanding myself a little differently.🪷

This is also the first piece in my series “Femination”, where I explore the experience of being a woman in this world. 🌍 by @kai_sanna

Day 4/100: A lil bit about the piece:
.
Title: Feel The Wind on your skin
Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 120x70cm
.
Description:
“Feel the Wind on Your Skin” is a painting that depicts a woman standing naked in a field of flowers at sunset, with a hand reaching into the frame, suggesting the presence of another. As the title suggests, this piece symbolizes the freedom and comfort that come with a deep sense of self-awareness—the ability to expand or contract one’s sense of identity in response to life’s shifting circumstances. The symbol of nudity represents newness, a raw openness to life, and the vulnerability that accompanies true self-knowledge.

The African hairstyle featured in the painting ties this exploration of identity to an African perspective, emphasizing how cultural expressions of identity, like hair, are deeply intertwined with one’s sense of self. Beyond individual freedom, the painting also gestures toward feminine freedom—the kind of wild, radiant intimacy shared between women in safe, soul-nourishing friendships. It evokes the kind of closeness where one can laugh, dance, or run freely naked through a field with friends, unafraid and unashamed. It celebrates the sacred, often unspoken trust and liberation that exists in bonds where women are allowed to be fully themselves, witnessed and held in all their forms.✨ by @kai_sanna

My fav quote of the week ❤️‍🔥
“The audacity to act. To move. To create. And to have faith in the things unseen.” - A random Pinterest quote
This random, beautiful Pinterest quote reflects bits of the last week when I was completing this piece. My thoughts and feelings around career and stability were louder than usual and I had to keep convincing myself why it was important to see this piece till the end rather than letting silly doubts stop me. I’m happy to say that the audaciousness to act, move and create, took over and this piece was birthed to completion. And! I’m even happier to say that all your powerful reactions to this piece gave me so much life and oomph to create even more pieces! And for that I am so grateful 💞💞 love yall! by @kai_sanna

“The Death of Misogyny” powerful piece by @kai_sanna

Words from the artist:

It is a piece about love and fear, reawakening and questioning, vulnerability and protection. It’s about the things we inherit, the things we unlearn, and the parts of ourselves we rediscover during that whole process.

The more I worked on this piece, the more I realised there may never be just one way to understand it, and perhaps that’s the point.

Never done this before but I wrote a poem for this art piece🌸
Bon appétit ✨

Let’s kill misogyny.
The system that taught us
that tears weaken us,
that flowers belong to women
but forests somehow don’t.
The system that calls the body shameful,
when it is no more obscene
than rivers,
or trees,
or the creatures that live within them.

The system that shrinks masculinity
into performance,
and treats femininity
as something to consume,
or control.

Why did it convince us
that logic could exist
without tenderness?
That strength
could exist
without softness?

Perhaps the fight
was never against each other.
Perhaps the fight has always been
against the repeated stories
that taught us
there was only one way
to exist as humans.

Let’s Kill Misogyny
Completely.
Our stances strong yet gentle,
Our focus as still as the sky,
Hearts as soft as wool,
Shotguns raised,
Hair fabulously crowned,
Bullets wrapped in gold and forgiveness,
Ready, aim… by @kai_sanna
