Academics can make multimillions or end up homeless.

‼️If you’re a perpetual adjunct, visiting prof, postdoc, or lower-level admin staff, your chances are the latter.

Universities run like businesses.

To make💰💰💰💰💰💰💰as a W-2 university employee, your best bet is to get into management/leadership, much like what you’d do in industry.

Or, use your salary as seed funding to place a series of small bets on your next big ideas, ruthlessly network, sell, test, and market…

So that one day you end up with bestsellers, sold-out arenas, and YOU as the intellectual powerhouse.

So that one day, your job becomes your hobby.

The more you train your ears, the more possibilities you start hearing in the music. 🎶❤️‍🔥

Musicality is something we can continue developing every time we listen, practice, and give ourselves opportunities to explore the relationship between the music and our movement.

With consistency, we can start noticing more, the instruments, accents, changes in energy, pauses, and all those little moments that can influence the choices we make on the dance floor. 💃🏻🕺🏻✨

That’s part of what we continue training with Bryan in Mambo Footwork & Musicality. We’re not only practicing the steps; we’re developing a deeper relationship with the music behind them.

Join Bryan every Thursday at 7:30 PM for Mambo Footwork & Musicality

📍 5346 Jackson Drive, Suite B, La Mesa, CA 91942

Keep listening. Keep exploring. Let the music give you more to dance to. 🎶❤️‍🔥

Mambo gives you plenty to listen to… the fun part is deciding what you’re going to do with it. 🎶❤️‍🔥

Once you start paying closer attention to what you’re hearing, footwork becomes more than a sequence of steps.

You start noticing where you can play with an accent, change your texture, hold a moment, add energy, or simply let the music breathe.

That’s what we explore in Mambo Footwork & Musicality—developing the timing and coordination behind our footwork while learning how to make more intentional choices with the music.

Don’t just stay on time. Give your footwork something to say. 💃🏻🕺🏻❤️‍🔥

The more you expose yourself to Mambo, the more you start to recognize what makes it feel different. 🎶❤️‍🔥

This month, Bryan has been giving dancers a taste of Mambo in our Mambo Footwork & Musicality class—exploring its rhythm, timing, footwork, and distinct musical character so we can begin developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for the music. 👞✨

You don’t have to understand everything in one class. You show up, you listen, you move, and little by little you start hearing things differently. That’s part of the training too.

So when that Mambo comes on and you think, “Wait... this feels different,” you might start understanding why. 👀🎶
