Niʻihau Shell Classes at Native Books at Arts and Letters in collaboration with Puʻuhonua Society are back in session! Kai Hyde will be teaching on the 3rd floor through the end of October on Fridays 10am-2pm and Sundays 11-2pm. All welcome, including drop-ins.

Come when you can and stay as long as you can, no need to come at the top of the hour but come early so you have time to get into the groove.

Making new...think pendants, earrings, or lei and Kai welcomes those with lei to restore or just come to talk story about anything Niʻihau shell related.

Friday 10am-2pm and Sundays 11-2pm through the end of October. - come anytime, Kai will be there! Address is 1164 Nuʻuanu Avenue.

Some of the traditional Pounamu (New Zealand Jade) pieces I have available. Some very rare stunning Marsden Flower jade pieces with the golden colorations. Message to ask about any pieces. Finished a special order 4” Ni’ihau shell pikake style earring for a client. I am also making amazing multi color kahelelani shell earrings that will be available in classes. I teach Ni’ihau shell classes at Native books at Arts and letters on Nu’uanu street in chinatown on the 3rd floor every Friday and Sunday from 10-1 and 12-2pm through July. Come by to make your own pieces or look through finished pieces. I also teach how to restring your own family lei or can give quotes for restringing.
