OUT NOW!!!

This is the most special thing I’ve ever released. This song is about the discovery of the secret place in my life. When I realized that God wasn’t hiding anywhere, He was right in front of me. I could meet with Him. I had spent my whole life desperate for this kind of peace and comfort, and I had finally found it.

No matter where your relationship with Jesus Christ is at, I’d encourage you to take inventory. Listen to this song and let the secret place awaken. My prayer is that it launches you into the secret whatever it looks like right now, from the extensive times of prayer, to a familiar drive home from work.

“Hours” by @thebelongingco is OUT NOW!!

It’s not often I make a post about a song outside of the “Ka’i Lasit” music, but this felt like too special of a song, and story, for me to not share on here😭❤️.

I came into TBCO for the College in August of 2022, and I was an absolute hot mess (grad post coming soon). Lol. However, I had an unquenchable desire for the Lord. All of my strongholds, fears, anxieties, and thought patterns were being stripped away, one at a time as I attended TBCO and College.

But behind the scenes I was being formed, in the comfort of my little bedroom in East, as I sat at the feet of Jesus. I felt like I could sit there, forever.

Fast forward a few years, a handful of students began working on a little project. My brother @austinmpowell, the legend @lexi.everts, and myself sat around a keyboard. AP read to us a story that had been on his heart from Luke chapter 10. Martha becomes distracted in her serving, while Mary sits at the feet of Jesus. Jesus says “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion that will not be taken away from her”.

And about 2,000 years after that story took place, AP, Lexi, and I were again undone at the words of Jesus. I saw myself in that verse as tears of relief and joy came over me. I had become but a servant, and I needed to return to that little bedroom in East to just sit with Him. We felt the presence of God fall, and immediately started writing. It felt like we blinked and the whole song was done (besides the second verse of course haha).

Like many songs do, it went through 100 different versions, lyrics, names, and arrangements. But through all of those changes, the heart remains the same. And it still makes me cry lol.

I hope this song blesses you and your walk with the Lord as you listen to this incredible new album. Take a deep breathe, “slow down” and sit with Jesus today.

Like Jesus said, it’s the one thing that matters.
