A vintage pattern, thrifted lace and fabric (a sheet and curtain!) and I made collection of pretty dresses inspired by a few beautiful brands.

I have a video on my channel that goes into detail on my inspiration, and how I made these including my thought process, mistakes and successes.

Pattern is a mix of Vintage McCall’s 4012, the Cayden Naughton Cordelia, Silversaga’s Chloe silhouette, and Madswick Studio’s sleeve technique which is my new fav. by @kaitbos

I’ve loved the lace yokes I’ve seen from Christy Dawn and Dôen so I decided to make my own and I love how it turned out! I made a sewing vlog about it on my channel if you want like long form videos and want to see my other two inspired makes ❤️

This dress is made from a thrifted cafe curtajn(!) and shirting I got locally. The pattern is a Frankenstein between a vintage McCall’s 4012, the skirt is Silversaga’s Chloe and Cayden Naugton’s Cordelia sleeve (a pattern I made in its entirety on my channel). by @kaitbos

It’s been so fun showing our kids New York this week! We’ve been lucky enough to come here a few times now and there’s always new things to do and see. Photo dump of our trip to New Jersey/New York so far.

Highlights:
🗽Seeing the Statue of Liberty (and its museum) on the hottest day of the summer.
🗽 Watching our kids scooter around the city and Central Park
🗽 Visiting the Met! The kids were encouraged to pick a theme to look for throughout the museum: Lux chose jewelry, Kit chose wings, and Poppy chose butts which were in abundance 😂 by @kaitbos

Happy Release Day! I had the best time testing the Teaberry Bloomers for Miranda Riley! Miranda gathered the most creative group of women to test these so please check out the hashtags below. I love these pants! I made two pants and now two shorts using this pattern. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun and light for the summer.

*Her Etsy store will be 20% off for 1 week! So go grab this pattern!

**Please note that these bloomers were made during pattern testing. Small improvements were made during testing so the finished pattern may differ slightly

I’m so happy to have this set in my wardrobe. I love my flowy dresses but I was happy to help test this Lea pattern for @silversagapatterns. It’s turned out to be such a great staple for my wardrobe and I’ve already gotten so many compliments on both pieces.

I made a size 38 top and size 36 pants without pockets which I love. I’m 5’3” and I shortened the pants by 2”. I have a second set in black coming in a video and the size 36 pants with pockets are a bit tight unfortunately. I’m going to make a THIRD set both in 38 which should be perfect. All coming in a video at the end of the week ❤️

Congrats to Jessica on this amazing set! It’s incredible how many pieces you get with this pattern and the fit advice that’s included is very valuable. by @kaitbos

The dress I can’t stop wearing is here! The Elise! I was lucky enough to test this pretty pattern by @milaonnipatterns the past few weeks and it’s been such a fun process. I made three of these dresses and I’m halfway through a top which speaks to how enjoyable this pattern is to sew. If you’re looking to make a dress you want to wear all summer this is it!

(My top will be on YT next week!)

Another sheet another dress! I made the Liliana dress by @milaonnipatterns out of this Queen fitted sheet that I thrifted. I actually added one more waist elastic after I took this photo because I can’t help but try different variations. I have a YT video up featuring this dress if you want to hear me yap about it!

Mods/Variations
- Short sleeve with elastic hem
- Binding at neck instead of a ruffle
- 3 waist channels and lowered the top one
- Hem ruffle (my fav!)

I made a size s/m using her previous pattern. It would be a size 6 in her updated version. by @kaitbos

I had the most beautiful time in San Francisco tagging along on Wes’s work trip and then celebrating my bday today. Thanks to my family for watching the kiddos and to everyone who has made me feel so special today. ❤️

PS. I made this @milaonnipatterns Estelle dress from a bed sheet and it’s on my YT channel now 😆 by @kaitbos

One of my goals this year was to make clothing that I love to wear. I have made a lot of things that I don’t like so I have been on the hunt for a very versatile pattern where I can change the sleeve, add lace, a gathered tier, etc. I finally found a pattern I love- the Chloe pattern by @silversagapatterns. I just made this dress in my latest YouTube video where I do a sewing marathon. I changed the sleeve and added lace to the sleeve and hem. I’m currently making my FOURTH version of this pattern and will have two dresses and two tops when I’m done. I can’t wait to share my other makes! by @kaitbos

It’s my birthday at the end of the month and I have this theory that most people are in a “cheerful daze” during their birth month. They forgive the negative parts of the season in anticipation of their fun day. In March the snow melts, the weather warms, plants sprout and we are finally outside more. But the next few weeks also bring rain, mud, one more snowstorm, and as my sister-in-law lovingly observes, “it smells like worms.”

SO if you need me I’ll be off in my daze catching any sunshine I can, waiting for my snowdrops to bloom and enjoying the smell of earth while I wait for my birthday. by @kaitbos

15 minutes a day. This is sometimes the time I have to devote to these beautiful interests that fill me up. I’m currently in this complicated place of overwhelm and inspiration. I *need* to make the three quilts and four dresses on my list, read novels and do my devotions, practice photography, learn to make sourdough, improve my embroidery… There were a lot of hobbies I put on hold when my kids were teeny tiny because I didn’t have a lot of time to work on them. I wish I allowed myself the 15 minutes I had because you do eventually make the thing. This dress took me three weeks to make in my spare time but could’ve been done in 4 uninterrupted hours. Frustrating but real. SO what I’m trying to say is: if you only have 15 minutes, take it. by @kaitbos
