What a crazy fun weekend hauling pads around the Poudre. I'd had these lines in mind for years, but never made the logistics fit together. Doing them all in one long weekend was super special and fulfilling for me.

1. Mariana - Just one of the best boulders ever, easily in my top 3 of all time. One of one.

2. The Beckoning Silence - Ground up, no net. One of the first Poudre boulders I ever saw a video of when I moved to CO. The fire destroyed the trees for the net setup, and I always had it in the back of my mind to build a log landing. I finally put the work in and got it done shortly after. Another truly mega classic.

3. Small Axe (post break FA?) - Badass tall 45 degree wall with giant moves. Rowdy move off the broken hold!

4. Outdoor Boys FA - Pure fun jumping around just to the right of small axe, as pure as they come. A wonderful surprise after laboring on the landing. Looked impossible at first but ended up being pretty reasonable.

I'll whip up a little youtube video sometime soon! Thanks everyone who supported either by carrying pads or sharing info, or making inspiring videos!

I'm left feeling somewhat sad I don't have these problems to look forward to trying in the future, but I hope I can remember the feelings of being on them forever. by @kaiwebs

Front Range Friends is finally up on Youtube for those who want to watch it!

This was a fun project to return to my roots on. I started it in 2021 but got burnt out on carrying my camera to the alpine, especially when I wasn't having much success on the rocks. It was easier to just film iphone vlogs here and there. In 2023 I started working full time as a head setter, and found it really hard to be productive and motivated with so much less free time. I would still climb a lot, but I didn't feel like I had the same emotional investment, I was just happy to be outside after working all week, not really grinding for any goals or feeling any attachment to sending projects.

In 2024 I resurrected the old 2021 footage and started to get motivated on editing it again. Thanks to many long chats with Liam, Mere and Noah on the hikes or at the boulders, I started to understand and adjust to my new job and schedule, and felt like I had space for climbing and filmmaking to take a larger role again. Once I got some footage under the belt, the motivation just kept on building, and it was easy to push the project to the finish line.

Front Range Friends is a collection of climbs edited to music that I enjoy listening to, and I have a lot of fun expressing myself in this way. Under the surface, there are a lot of personal successes featured for all of us, each of which would not have been possible without the support of the group. I'm really proud of my friends for their wins, and I'm really proud of myself, too.

I hope people watching can understand that its the long chats under a rainy Chaos roof, or going up the Area A switchbacks, that make the biggest difference in climbing.

Back in early May I established this pretty fun link line at the cut boulder in Estes called “Habilis”. It shares good climbing from both out the cut and escape the grid, but has a cool crux section between the two with some independent moves involving a hard undercling above your head. Anyways I enjoyed my time at this bloc, and while it was nice to be alone here at times, I am glad to see all of them getting some traffic this season! by @kaiwebs

Last weekend I managed to complete “Big Worm” the longest project I’ve had since moving to Colorado, and maybe the most challenging climb I’ve ever worked through. Three years ago @imknowa started working on Greener Grasses and I started trying Big Worm. We went out together roughly 15 days from snowy May to windy and freezing October and toiled away. We both had our times of positivity and negativity but we kept showing up. On Saturday, we both completed our projects in the same evening for a magical end to the journey. Thanks for being out there for me buddy, and to everyone else who supported along the way! by @kaiwebs
