A couple weeks back I ran from Orsières in Switzerland to Chamonix in France. 60k, 3500m+. My longest race to date, both in distance and time on feet.

I was nervous going in to the race, unsure how I would do. It started hot and fast, up to Champex-Lac, and people were racing past me. I remember thinking, ”what am I doing here, who am I kidding, I’m not good enough”.
Little by little, I found my pace, and myself. I climbed well, passing people and cheered the same people when the flew past me on the downhills. I made trail friends in the middle of a cow fight. Saw my bestest team @schtaeker @mrmaanx @beckaforsberg with bells and signs in Trient. I stopped to pet dogs and to take in the view. I talked to a lovely Kiwi who was more scared of heights than me at a technical section of Chalet des Grands, and could help her through a scary bit. That could have been me, just some years ago.
At Vallorcine TC, we passed the sweepers getting ready, but they said not to worry, we had lots of time. Nextdoors, the medic tent was full of overheated runners. I’m still okay, I told myself.
Descending into Argentière, sugar fatigue and nausea hit. Seeing my team again along with broth and sparkling water made for a great reset. Headlights on for the last bit. I didn’t rush, I savoured it - feeling like I would actually make it all the way.
I crossed the finishline with new brilliant trail buddy @samnoisy , with my team and lovely Trail Talk friends cheering. It took me 13,5 hours.

Some time after the race, an innocent comment made me feel like my performance was quite bad, based on the time I did. It got to me more than I wanted to. It brought back the ”I’m not good enough to be here”. Along with the lowest ITRA score to date, it brought me down.
But looking back, I raced exactly how I like to run. I love to move, to be in the moment (and not in my head for once!), to take in the beautiful nature, to make friends, to finish smiling. And I did just that. So, I’m proud of my go at OCC. I know my ”why”. Going forward, I’ll try to cherish it even more. 💙

Massive thanks to everyone who put a silver lining on that day 🌻🥰 taken in Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France by @kajsamohammar

Hello Hippo: @kajsamohammar!

Kajsa is our proud representative of inclusive pace (nothing is too slow), a mountain lover with a fear of heights, and always up for a breakfast run 🥐☕️

What got you into running?
🦛 I would do the odd 5k a week for years and really didn’t get what the fuss was. It wasn’t until @schtaeker and @beckaforsberg challenged me and @mrmaanx to run @sierrezinal_officiel 5 years ago that it clicked. To run long I had to slow down, and I was amazed at just how far I could go when I did. These old legs! Up mountains! Views and snacks! I was sold.

Tell us about your favourite running experience?
🦛 All of my times at Sierre Zinal, and our first time at @sormlands100_trail_run a few years back (my first ultra, and my first marathon - I kept saying to Max ”this is the furthest I’ve ever gone!”). Every time my family comes to cheer also makes it super special. And I love making friends out on the trails, sharing stories, snacks and km’s.

What are your running goals in 2026?
🦛 I ran the 50k at @ukapain this May, and @sierrezinal_officiel two weeks ago. I’m about to run OCC during @utmbmontblanc this week - my first time to Chamonix during this crazy week, I’m ridiculously nervous and excited. Later in October I’m signed up to @mallorcabyutmb too - the longest distance to date. Otherwise I hope to keep running fun and free from too many performance goals. It’s my happy place.

Yearly Swiss training camps, sponsored by mountains, sunshine and Rivella (last video) 💛

Hikes, training runs, races. Days on the lake, nights up high on the mountain. Systems fully reset; tired legs, quiet mind.

This coming week I’m toeing the line at OCC @utmbmontblanc which feels totally crazy. It’s not even 5 years since I started running. Since then, I’ve ran @sierrezinal_officiel 4 times. I’ve ran races across Europe and the US. And so, it’s almost time for another little dance, in the most iconic of valleys 🕺 by @kajsamohammar

Uka Pain is Elfdalian for ”what a pain” or ”what a hard thing to do”. It’s a great local race up in Dalarna county consisting of a 50k loop on mostly singletrack through deep forest and some gravelroad, topping out on 3 peaks with a total of 1500m+. For the 100k, you run the loop and then turn around and run it backwards. For the 100miler, well… you go 3 laps plus a little prologue. The setup makes for plenty of crossing paths along the course with fellow runners. This race has been on my radar for a while and it really lived up to the expectations. My family cheered spectacularly along the course and it made for a very special day. I got to cheer on @mrmaanx and @beckaforsberg in their races too, which is just as fun as running. For my own race, I managed to run just how I like; controlled, with gratitude and presence. I made new friends and saw some breathtaking views. Tried a new @kailasfuga Air 7 pack as part of #TheFUGABigTest which was really good, great fit and lots of smart storage.
All in all, a good start to the season - thanks @ukapain !

October bucket list trip to California 💛 I have always wanted to see these mountains, and these trees! Their sheer size and old age feels somehow comforting, like they have seen so much and will stand to see so much more.
After Yosemite and Sequoia, we drove down to Big Bear for the final race of the year @kodiak_ultramarathons , which was a big success - @mrmaanx and @schtaeker finishing their first 100 milers, and @beckaforsberg running to a 7th place in her second 100 miler (direct qualification to @utmbmontblanc )! I’ve been looking after a hip niggle since end of summer and opted for a drop down from 100k to 50k, (which probably is my favorite distance) and ended up having a lovely day out feeling surprisingly good all the way despite the altitude. I was reminded of why I run - I’m not particularly fast or talented, but I love to get lost in the movement, in the camaraderie, in the vistas.
Running in these beautiful places is a privilege I will never take for granted, neither is having people to go on these adventures with. 💙 by @kajsamohammar

Late summer into autumn window: the bestest @sormlands100_trail_run shared by many of my favourite people (not all pictured) proved again that despite my own running not being great due to a hip irritation, I had a wonderful time enjoying the success of my friends and family; eating greens and sipping pinks; breakfast runs; birthday flowers 🌻 by @kajsamohammar

Swiss mountain summer flavours: My whole family came to visit. We ran our favourite race @sierrezinal_officiel and our parents cheered. Solo hikes, hut hikes, snowy hikes, sunny hikes. I feel so much gratitude that this is my little life 💛 the summer of the sunflower 🌻 by @kajsamohammar

Summer 2025 started well 🌻
Mountains in🇨🇭reminding ourselves of the Sierre-Chandolin climb ahead of @sierrezinal_officiel 🏔️

A lovely restorative week with friends near and far in 🇫🇷, helmed by @louboxy and @madeline_bain , with more love than some images will allow to frame ❤️

And followed by more mountains in 🇮🇹 for @monterosaww where our little team of Hippos RC runners enjoyed a highly technical course. Stunning scenery, delicious food and great race organisation made for a perfect weekend, and beautiful accommodation @dresalwoald helped us rest before and after 💜 won’t be our last visit to @visitgressoney 🥰 by @kajsamohammar
