✨ Mitr — Friends | SSP Dance Series ✨
A beautiful celebration of friendship through the language of dance! 💃
Mitr, an ensemble collaboration between Kalanidhi Dance @kalanidhidance and Bijayini Satpathy @bijayinisatpathy Dance Collective, brought together the grace and artistry of Kuchipudi and Odissi, celebrating their shared identities and rich classical traditions.
A captivating evening of movement, expression, and artistic harmony.
Grateful for the opportunity to capture and preserve this wonderful collaboration through our lenses at SSP. 📸🎥 by @kalanidhidance

Some tributes are danced. This one I designed. 🤍

On Kuchipudi Dance Day, I’m sharing a poster I created to honour my guru, @anuradhanehru , and celebrate her legacy.

I brought together performance photographs, archival images, press clippings, and words of recognition—each one a small part of a much larger story.

Including Vempati Chinna Satyam garu was especially meaningful to me: an acknowledgement of his profound influence on her journey and the tradition she continues to share with us.

A student’s gratitude, expressed through a designer’s lens.

Swipe through for the story behind the poster and the elements that brought it together.

With love and respect, always. 🙏

Happy World Kuchipudi Dance Day! ❤️

Endlessly grateful for this beautiful art form that has been a constant in our lives… through moments of joy, triumph, challenges, and everything in between. Kuchipudi continues to give us strength, purpose, expression, and a sense of belonging.

To inherit such a rich tradition, lovingly nurtured and passed down through generations by extraordinary gurus and artists, including the legendary Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, is truly a gift.

How fortunate we are to learn, live, share, and carry this beautiful legacy forward. ❤️ by @kalanidhidance

A weekend filled with so much more than just dance. 🤍

From our road trip, to hotel room adventures, dinner together, and surprising our dearest Samhi for her birthday, to experiencing the incredible T.M. Krishna in concert, long tech rehearsals, and finally sharing the stage at Wesleyan University… every moment was special in its own way.

Weekends like these remind us that Kalanidhi is so much more than a dance company. We are truly a family. We grow together, laugh together, celebrate each other’s milestones, push each other to be better, and show up for one another with so much love and care.♥️

What makes this journey so beautiful isn’t just the art we create together, but the relationships we’ve built along the way. There is something so special about being surrounded by people who genuinely love, support, and celebrate one another, both on and off the stage.

So grateful for this little family of ours, for the memories we continue to make, and for the love that makes it all so meaningful. ❤️

A little glimpse into our Wesleyan weekend! 🥹

My heart is so full after such a beautiful experience at the Maathangi Festival in Kochi! ❤️

My deepest gratitude to Navya Chechi (@navyanair143 ), who is not only an incredible artist but also one of the most humble, gracious, and beautiful human beings. The love and sincerity with which she has built Maathangi is truly special. Thank you, Chechi, for your warmth, kindness, and for taking such wonderful care of me throughout my time in Kochi. Your words were extremely special to me, and I will cherish it forever!

To the entire Maathangi family, thank you for welcoming me with such open arms and making me feel so at home. 🤍

Dancing on that stage was an absolute joy! The energy, warmth, and appreciation from the audience were something I will carry with me for a long time. Sharing Kuchipudi with so many people experiencing the art form for the first time, and feeling their curiosity, enthusiasm, and encouragement, was incredibly moving.

Forever and always grateful to my gurus and mentors for giving me everything.

I leave with a heart full of gratitude, beautiful memories, and new friendships. Thank you, Maathangi, for reminding me of the beautiful connections that dance makes possible. Until we meet again! ♥️🙏🏽
