Some tributes are danced. This one I designed. 🤍

On Kuchipudi Dance Day, I’m sharing a poster I created to honour my guru, @anuradhanehru , and celebrate her legacy.

I brought together performance photographs, archival images, press clippings, and words of recognition—each one a small part of a much larger story.

Including Vempati Chinna Satyam garu was especially meaningful to me: an acknowledgement of his profound influence on her journey and the tradition she continues to share with us.

A student’s gratitude, expressed through a designer’s lens.

Swipe through for the story behind the poster and the elements that brought it together.

With love and respect, always. 🙏

My heart is so full after such a beautiful experience at the Maathangi Festival in Kochi! ❤️

My deepest gratitude to Navya Chechi (@navyanair143 ), who is not only an incredible artist but also one of the most humble, gracious, and beautiful human beings. The love and sincerity with which she has built Maathangi is truly special. Thank you, Chechi, for your warmth, kindness, and for taking such wonderful care of me throughout my time in Kochi. Your words were extremely special to me, and I will cherish it forever!

To the entire Maathangi family, thank you for welcoming me with such open arms and making me feel so at home. 🤍

Dancing on that stage was an absolute joy! The energy, warmth, and appreciation from the audience were something I will carry with me for a long time. Sharing Kuchipudi with so many people experiencing the art form for the first time, and feeling their curiosity, enthusiasm, and encouragement, was incredibly moving.

Forever and always grateful to my gurus and mentors for giving me everything.

I leave with a heart full of gratitude, beautiful memories, and new friendships. Thank you, Maathangi, for reminding me of the beautiful connections that dance makes possible. Until we meet again! ♥️🙏🏽

Thank you for these videos 🤍🤍 @abhinavashok_6 @geethika_arunsankar @anand.unni_official

✨ Mitr — Friends ✨
A beautiful coming together of two classical traditions — Kuchipudi and Odissi — through Mitr, an ensemble collaboration between Kalanidhi Dance @kalanidhidance and Bijayini Satpathy @bijayinisatpathy Dance Collective.
A wonderful evening celebrating shared identities, artistic expression, and the friendship that connects these two distinctive dance forms. 💃✨
Grateful for the opportunity to capture and preserve this beautiful collaboration through our lenses at SSP. 📸🎥

Maryland-based dance school and company Kalanidhi Dance (@kalanidhidance) will make their Connecticut debut as the conclusion of @wesleyan_u's 50th annual Navaratri Festival on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 3pm in Crowell Concert Hall. Their work "Nritya Malika—A Garland of Dances" features the flowing, graceful, and theatrical Kuchipudi dance style.

From the sacred to the secular, the work is an immersive journey into the myths and magic of Indian mythologies, literature, and dance. Most of the dances uplift the divine feminine Shakti energy. The first piece centers Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom, and learning that will be honored earlier that morning at 10am during Wesleyan's annual Puja ceremony, marking the most auspicious day of the year for beginning new endeavors.

I am so so excited about this beautiful journey commissioned by and in collaboration with @kalanidhidance

This one year journey with these gifted artists makes my belief in collaborations stronger - the Kalanidhi

We named this collaboration Mitr - meaning friendship and friends and I see the true meaning of this precious word resonate in every moment of our time together in creating this work with three dances.
