Thank you @europeancoffeetrip & all who voted for us! 🇮🇪

What a lovely feeling to be included on a listing from a website we’ve used since way before starting Kali 💚 European Coffee Trip was (and still is) how we planned holidays - around which cafes we want to go to of course! We recommend it to anyone that’s travelling around Europe and on the hunt for some good coffee.

To be the only cafe outside of Dublin included is a pretty wild feeling!!

The World Brewers Cup Championships🏅

Enda came 16th IN THE WORLD! 🎉 We are full of proud for our little Galway cafe, team of three, achieving 16th in the world for Enda’s first year competing on the world stage. What he’s achieved is amazing! 💚

Thank you for all the supportive messages, for watching along online, our friends and family that came to tastings and run-throughs, for looking after our doggo, and everyone who helped us get there!

Thank you @manhattancoffeeroasters and @diegosamuel.bermudeztapia for producing such amazing coffee, it was an honour to showcase you guys. Thanks to @sca_ireland, to the judges for the fantastic feedback, and everyone backstage, competitors and organisers, for being so so sound.

Here’s to next year! 💪🏻

We have some news 💚

After 5 years 8 months and 26 days, Kali will be closing its doors on August 28th.

It’s been one hell of an experience and an adventure and that is what life is about! Having as many experiences and adventures as possible.

As you can imagine, it was a very difficult decision to come to. We didn’t go lightly into it and ruminated on it for a long time.

Kali is our baby and has been our life for over 5 years so we are sad (and scared) to be closing but at the same time we’re very excited! We’re grateful to be closing on our own accord, nothing bad has happened and this choice is solely our own.

Talk about leaving on a high! 32nd best coffee shop in Europe, Brewers Cup Champion, European Coffee Trip Top 10 in Ireland and newspaper write ups galore! But most importantly feeling like we’ve created a space that is important and valued in our community and has brought the Galway coffee scene to the world. We truly feel like we’re leaving at the top of our game.

It’s hard to sum up over 5 years in an instagram post and what it’s meant to us 💚 we’ve made life-long friends through Kali. We’ve seen regulars come and go and families grow and we even got married in the garden. Our little community has meant so much to us, our regulars are legends 😎

It’s going to be a big change and there’s a bit of grief to closing but, we’re really excited for our next adventure, whatever that may be!

Our last day of trade is Friday 28th August so please come in for a chat, a laugh, a coffee and celebrate Kali with us 💚

Laura holding her coffee at a dangerous angle must mean one thing… a new Lekker has hit the menu! 🥳

Purple Rain from @dakcoffeeroasters is an anaerobic natural from the Guji region in Ethiopia 🇪🇹

A perfect name for it because it does actually taste purple 💜 notes of plum & jammy fruits from this juicy coffee!
